Election

Because I'm not optied in to the politics section Danny asked me I said I'm not intrested, I only looked in on this as it's in the general plastering bit.
I've never voted Tory, never will, never vote labour either with the current far left wing rubbish.politics on here = It's just idle tit for Tat with you waffling on about labour and others waffling on about Tory, it gets boring very quickly, if that's your thing fair dos but I'm not really interested In it, just the rendering and machine sections on here does me fine.
Fair play I thought this was in the politics section :)

It doesn't matter does it, a budget deficit was left of 164 billion that doesn't just disappear does it ?
And how much did I rise to? You keep saying about inheriting, yes fair enough, but I've read several different factors, pointing out no matter what government had been in charge, during the global recessions, same thing would have happened. Labour up until that had been doing quite well deficit wise had they not. In fact if I kind right, we're lower than previous govt.

It didn't rise it fell year after year, but here is the thing it was under labours watch the deficit went up to 164billion, but yet all the leftards scream the tories have borrowed more than any labour govt, but the very same argument applies it doesn't matter who was in government those borrowing costs would have been the same,

has the deficit under the Tory's rose to levels above labours?

No, it's inherited peak was 164billion I believe and has subsequently come down each year since, still a deficit of around 30billion.
But remember the first 5 years was a coalition

Ok @Jurek lets have the figures I'm wrong ?

That shows figures taking the crash spike out for both sides and tory deficit still greater, or can you only read what you want to read.

Clearly maths isn't a strong point, a budget deficit doesn't just disappear lol.

It's a bit like the 50p rate of tax how many years where labour in power but only in the last few months was it increased.

May I suggest you refrain from the thread because economics is not your strength

Answers my question. You can only read what you want to. Don't talk s**t to me, I done additional maths at gcse and business studies at a level, and got into University, I might add. You seem to be the one that can't F*****g read the charts, tables and stuff in front of you. Maybe you should try specsavers, or even a pop to the proctologist when you're off your hols to help pull your head back out your colon.

In which case you will know a budget deficit that was inherited doesn't just disappear does it ?

No, but would it have been there without the bankers global crash. You can't point score blaming the deficit entirely on previous government, when there would have been a deficit no matter what government was in, can you. What the torys it down to now, is still higher than the than labours in the couple years before the crash. True or false? Then the global recession spiked it, tory govt spiked it even more for whole coalition govt. True or not true???

So you can't blame the tories for an inherited 164billion which has been reduced each year. Money doesn't really grow on trees

You keep banging on about this deficit and I have already gave you the main reason it was so high but here's another two Iraq and Afghanistan which are not draining the budget any more. Now the question you keep diving from is the national debt, if such a good job is being done on reducing the budget deficit how is it still rising ?

Didn't answer the question. Has the national debt increased by over a trillion in over ten years?

Ok 164 billion deficit x that by 7 and you have your answer, an inherited deficit. Now some just cannot get their head around what a deficit means.
A deficit doesn't just disappear from one year to the next without drastic cuts and or a massive increase in tax take.

Now I'm off to enjoy my last week in sunny Cyprus.

You're wrong Gordon. The Tories have gotten us into this mess and Labour will get us out of it. If you hadnt given billions a year away to the rich and reduced corporation tax and given billions in bank bailouts you could have driven down the deficit. Austerity has made it worse. There is no proof that austerity works. The Governments finances were hamstrung because nobody had anything to spend. Lower growth and lower productivity. That has picked up over the last few years and GDP has increased but only because of the additional immigrants allowed into the country. 370 000 extra last year. That would cause the GDP to appear higher. But in reality people have nothing to spend. Public Sector workers are on 1% a year? And you want a further four years of cuts? Lol. The Tories have used the financial crisis to push their own agenda of austerity and cuts and privatisation. Thats the reality of it.

In which case there is no proof then that it doesn't? You tax people more the more they will try and avoid or leave, just look at France. And people wonder the NHS is struggling 370,000 more people last year it's a disgrace, people's have nothing to spend well all my friends don't seem to have a problem, those that just want handouts rightfully should have nothing to spend.
But back to point whilst there is a deficit then wage increases and benefits cannot be increased really.
Also this foreign aid budget should only be afforded if a surplus is being run, I don't see why we borrow money to give to corrupt or wasteful projects.

Labour will get us out of it pmsl, Diane Abbott Home Secretary, john mcdonall chancellor, the only short term winners will be Heathrow airport as all the wealthy buggar off.
Corbyns politics has never worked anywhere in the world alls it brings is disaster

So he much did he pay under the labour governments ?
none. his dad didnt die under a labour government. just more tax evasion that the tories let go because theyre up to their necks in it. like the owner of the daily mail. lol. and philip green. and amber rudd. and hsbc. and the list goes on and on and on

In which case there is no proof then that it doesn't? .

No. There is. You just wont like it or even read it.

Portugal raises wages and keeps deficit low
Even President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, a conservative, acknowledges its running of a country that left an international bailout programme only in 2014. “I have been surprised,” he said in February. “Frankly, I didn’t think it would be as resilient as it has shown itself to be in the past year.”
