Afternoon people,

Please give thought to what's the best material to run a cornice in-situ, board finish and lime? Or 50% casting plaster and 50% lime? I am planning on practising at home!!

Cheers.

Casting plaster with a retarder added

Casting plaster and lime ( the lime reduces the swelling ) and a retarder , the most available is bextarta which you can get in most supermarkets,
Don't mix too much at a time , happy running [emoji106]

Use porridge oats and water mate if you wanted a silly answer
Ummm Porridge and water may do for breakfast, but I don't think it will last an insitu run....
All jokes aside I read in the colum and curves plastering text book to use board finish. I wanted to hear if any uses that method?

@FrankNewman275 knows his gubbins mate I'd take his advice. Was a bloke called @mikeadams1985 who was top drawer and helped everybody. I guess he'said had enough and left??

I've always used finish for running insitu. If it's a deep cornice I pack out with plaster board or run it in bonding first.

Here's a few I done recently

Lol yes I have used multie a few times when I didn't have time to order any gear, also added a bit of cement to speed the setting up but don't say anything ;)

I have ran them years ago using carlite finish and used to dub out with browning. I know at leat one of the jobs is still sound and it was done in 1985 when my marra first bought the house.

That looks like a top finish PlasteCraftDundee. I would imagine it being hard to miter with skimming! Thanks for sharing your work.
