Doing a ceiling 13x13ft, joists are 41inch apart. Can I get away with 9.5mm board. Be using 38mm dry wall screws.

Thanks in advance.

No boards will span that distance. You will need to batten the ceiling out first.

41 inch's , fs that's near width of a board lol.

As for 9.5mm boards! f**k**g hate the things. When building my house, some eejit told me to use them because it'll work out cheaper. I boarded out all my house and didn't go back for about 2 weeks or 3 if I remember correctly. All ceiling boards sagged like over an inch. Mentioned to the eejit who advised me and his next advice was to bond in between the humps. Fs I ended up using more money in bonding than id have spent on new 12.5mm boards. Was 24yrs old, young and stupid!

Changed my mind now, took on board what old marshy said, save up and get a hilti

2 lads and a lab.. loading out ..vapour barrier.. timber framed houses approx 600m are doing them in 2 days......many years ago they used clouts 1 bang and they hit home....and would probs take an extra day.
