Nella premium trowels are the new premium trowels more flexible

I agree Danny - Cor blimey what a pair, wouldn't mind getting me hands on them....I'd grab em both at the same time

Vincey what did you prep it with to make it black
Distilled vinegar with same amount of Coke in a pan , bring it to the boil then pour it over the blade in a baking tray, leave it in to soak for 10 minutes then put it on a chopping board to drip dry when it's dry rub with a micro cloth

Does it stay black though if you rub it with sandpaper or scrape it? I just oil mine and keep it dry. Rub it clean with a bit of sand paper
No I scrape after a few weeks then do vinegar/coke again , after I finished each day I dry clean it spray wd40 and wrap in micro clothes, thinking I might sand it in a few weeks to get a better patina

How you getting on with the trowel mate? It looks like a beauty.

His vincey does it stop them rusting? Thanks Gerald
Still forms slight rust if left wet but easy to scrape off

Mate I'm hooked I'll be honest, my mt Carbon is worn in and a beauty , this nela Carbon gonna take time to get nicely worn , got absolutely fed up to my back tooth with permashape mt , it might just be me but think there shite , ended up buying a new one all the time , we've all different I suppose imo mt permashapes are crap I not used one for about a year or a flex hand trowel

I draw the line at a bucket with brushes in. I agree about the crap mt trowels though. My mt carbon less than a year old already starting to lose shape.

Tell us how you get on with it (y)
Hi Cornelius them nella trowels put the floating coat on dead flat I think it's the slightly smaller width I got a stainless one just got carbon today I think once its worn in will keep a nice sharp edge let you know ffs what are we like mad about trowels most sensible people watch football or porn

yup agree on this... cant see the point
I can see the point, but for the money? I don't think so. Will be interesting if they fall apart or not.

I've got the 14 inch stainless and the blade is spot on

About 5 or 6 years ago I ordered a new mt carbon and a plasterer working with me liked it and asked me to order him one, I ordered another from the same supplier. The trowel that turned up looked identical but the metal felt different, it warped slightly in the middle in no time.

It's only a very slight imperfection I've noticed but it doesn't bode well long term, all my mt trowels have been crap except for my very first one which I had for about 6 years

Wrapping them in well oiled rags was what the old boys did who I served my time with. May sound old fashioned but it works

You dont need all that vinegar shite put water on it and leave it out in the air its called oxsidisation rub the rust off and it will be black as a witches cat

Thats good news ryan. I gave up on my premium. Used it for a few months but after the initial excitement it never quite felt worn in still so gave up on it and went back to an MT.

Genuine question though. The medi is a great trowel but im sick to death of the nicks in it, my mate has also sacked his off and gone back to a refina as he's convinced they don't nick nearly as much. Are they made of the same grade steel and its nostalga or are the medi's softer? I've never been a refina fan, can't stand the handles on em but the medi's do seem to nick really easy- in my experience at least

Bang on mate
