Also having bit of trouble fixing beads and lining them up what shall I use ..nails , staple or? Done tops and bottom

If you don't scrim and skim the lot, you might most likely end up with a permanent crack where new and old meet up. If you want to roll it or keep it straight it's always personal preference

Zolco will If I just scrim that joint and skim I will need to do celling at that wall in one right? Or.. and the board stick out about 1/4inch so if Skim will it be okay?

Is that ceiling papered? Can't make it out on my phone, I'd just skim the lot tbh

No it's just paint mate but the whole room is been dot dabbed but celling is old but I just want to know really where it curved down to the window wall if I can just skim the celling or if I have to do the window wall aswell , as I'm not up to speed to put everything on in one hit .

Fire up a stop bead or a roofing batten to break it up above the window

Whats the "womans bedroom"
Are you a mormon with 18 wives ??
Id be glad to come around and help !!

Am I missing something here?
Scrim the boards to the ceiling and just skim.
If you can't get it on in 1 hit. Just do the ceiling first then ping a chalk line from 1 end to other along the bottom edge of ceiling so it's straight and put some tape above the line and skim up to it.
When you done remove the tape and you will have a perfect straight line.
Plus you won't need to be super neat at the join because the tape will do it for you.
Just make sure you feather to the tape to it doesn't protrude.

Simple really

I will give it a go I'm a young lad and I just knocked the chimley breast out for her and to make the room a little more room it's for my girlfriend the room I'm doing up. I though went I started that it just be a re skim until I took the paper of than found out all the plaster was blown and the backing coat was falling off the walls so I took it back to brick the whole room and was going to hardwall it until I dub out the chimney bit and it's stunk real bad! Though better stick boards on make the mum happier than smelling eggy hardwall But I just needed some help with that I'm with a plasterer but I'm still trying to make it to the top and learning and trying to pick up the brains and knowledge you guys have but thanks for the quick repleys

Do a straight line it will be easier to do in two and also when you come to decorate it will be a wall rather than part of the ceiling :)

Whatever really, some use staples or clout nails or if its overskim over existing beads a bit of wet plaster. Just make sure nail heads etc sit below the corner of the bead.
