Stolen Van and Plastering tools..

Yesterday morning at work my van and most of my tools was stolen.
You know what its like .... setting up and preparing a domestic job, in and out to the van, getting it all together. Head in the game.
Labourer was hacking off upstairs, I had to pop off down to the B&Q for some bits.
Went out to van to get going when lab called me quickly back in. So that minute that i returned inside to see what he wanted (stupidly leaving my keys in ) I heard my van engine rev up and I ran back outside to see some t**t driving off. His accomplice in a blue fiesta leading the way. I chased them to the end of the street ( and I'm 53 .. and fat) but then they got to the main road and were gone.
Police were called and we searched around some local dodgy areas but didn't locate it and still haven't.
This happened in the west midlands ... Portobello area of Willenhall, in between Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Although the van is insured my tools weren't. Power tools are expensive to replace but
Losing my trowels and spats has wounded me most. They are worn in just how i like them and it will be a pain to start again with fresh metal.
So please, Any one on the forum locally who might be offered any power tools, plastering tools or trowels etc please call Wolverhampton Police or email me at info@trustmarkplasterers.co.uk
Thanks.
It could be your van next.

I dont know what its like over there but here, if you leave your keys in the car/van and gets stole then its your own fault and your insurance doesnt cover you. This happened to someone i know when getting diesel years back and didnt get a penny from insurance. Hope ya get the wee f**k**s and your van back thou

Scumbags the lot of them.
Fortunate never to have been in that position.
I don't know what I'd do if it was me I'd be devastated.
More any tools than the van!
f**k the van It can be replaced. But tools and your livelyhood that have taken years to break in would be the worst.

Just always remember whilst it's horrible and if you caught them you probably do some damage. At end of it all nobody was hurt or killed!

Not much comfort I know. But anything you need the lads on here will be happy to oblige.

Remember karma's a bitch

Gutted for you mate. What power tools are you short of? To replace trowels etc is a nightmare as we all have our unique way of spreading with them.
At 53 I guess you are a family man who cannot afford to lose money!?
I've got some stuff that could help you out? It's not that I don't need them or use them but right now I think your need is greater than mine??
PM me your address or if you can't? @Danny can you sort it please as I'll send him some stuff off to help him out?

Well it looks like they will pay out for the van.
Tools of trade no chance. £300 limit on other personal possessions otherwise.
I suppose I've been lucky... its been over 20years since the last van was stolen.

Hi Ant
I have a few spare trowels I am happy to send up to you if you want. They are well worn in, I've never used them, got them as back up incase something like this happened to me.

Thank again lads for all the goodwill and support. I'll be ok just feel disillusioned that I work hard and stealing a working blokes tools and livelihood is fair game to these scumbags.
Been out buying replacement essential needed bits and pieces today.
If it was a few months more they could of maybe got away with the Ritmo and all the rendering kit... that would be game over me.
Need springtime asap now to earn the better mono money to catch up.

Let us know what exactly was taken mate and we can all see what we got spare or can donate to keep you working nothing worse than losing ya tools I had my Bosch mixer and mega mixer stolen out my van over a grand worth of drills and they probably got next to nothing for them I would rather of paid them to stay away from my van than go through the sickening feeling you get good bunch of lads on here always willing to help even at times don't seem like it

Will they pay hirecosts so you can keep on working? Gutted for you chief.
If you are going to struggle (I don't know how you are fixed)...let the lads on here help.....it's not charity, just honest blokes helping one of their own.:sisi:

Insuring tools is always a grey area think loads abused the system and then genuine cases like this suffer

Plunger of a always handy if only to remind us of how lucky we are that we have mixing drills now

@AntJones I got a brand new 18inch Ox trowel if you want it and a ermm holy float :-\ PM me address if you are interested and I will whizz it over :D

No sign of my van or tools at all. Police told me after just three days that they had stopped investigating it and consider it as 'unsolved'.
I'm still in a hire van at the mo and slowly getting new (and some old) gear together.

Sorry to hear about your loss, I had £5k of tools robbed out of my van in December had cctv even got their number plate. rang the pigs said they will send someone round and will ring me when they are coming. never heard from them for two days, I even got a parking ticket from a copper the same day I had to lol or I would have cried
The copper said they know who they are but need more evidence I never got my tools back and only got 4k from the insurance
