Spray machine for lime render?

Hi I'm looking at purchasing a machine for lime render and wondering if you guys have any information than can guide me the right way!

I do on average about 1500 Sqm a year so and this amounts to over 100 tons of wet plaster, so I could do with something quite hefty bit not with the price tag of a putzmeiser.

I have been looking at the mtec300 as this has a grain size of upto 4mm which would cover my base coat that uses sharp sand,

Has anyone had any experience using these machines with lime or cement using sharp sand?

There is also the eze24 but this seems to be underpowered would this do the job ?

Any help would be much appreciated as I have not a clue at the moment !

Thanks tom

Hi Tom,

In all honesty I agree with @theclemo and would advise a diesel machine for this application.

3 Phase machines like the M330 will only work using dry powdered material. This would be good to use if you are using a pre-bagged version.

The diesel machines such as the Pragma 12 s K cost: £17500.00 + VAT

We do have one in our hire fleet which will be available for sale

Tom,

Andrew our MD has just advised we will be adding the Conveying range from M-tec to our range very shortly.

We will have both the P20 and P50 available in 3 phase, these machines will also have as standard a variable speed.

The P20 is the smaller of the two versions coming with a 4kW pump motor. Here are some facts about both machines:

P20 motor size: 4kW

P20 conveying distance: Up-to 40m

P20 Conveying height: Up-to 30m

P20-1024x835.png

The M-tec P50, there will be two versions of this machine available. One with a 7.5kW motor, one with a 5.5kW motor

P50 7.5kW Conveying distance: Up-to 120m

P50 5,5kW Conveying distance: Up-to 80m

P50 7,5kW Conveying Height: Up-to 40m

P50 5,5kW Conveying Height: Up-to 30m

If you would like more information, please don't hesitate to let me know

Ignore me if I am wrong, but the XL is 7mm and that's the main reason to be on top of my list.

Thanks for the Info, I did think they might not be upto the job (was hoping they were because if the price!)

The mtec p20 and p50 seem interesting,

I have a imer mortarman 680L pan mixer so mixing is not a issue! And I allready have a hopper fed spray gun with a 44cfm compressor,

The area I'm missing is the pump,

The p20 and p50 - I pursume they can be either pump only or spray and pump?

Could you give me an idea of prices?
And what addons there would be available?

The diesel pump you mentioned in the other post what price would I be looking at second hand?

Those green pumps look good I'm toying with the idea of trying to fabricate my own pump, but unsure if i can manage it!

Thanks tom

Tom I myself use lime renders.
Personally I would sack off the idea of using traditional lime materials and use say parex bagged lime renders
These can be used with a m-tec of pft ritmo/G4
Traditional lime renders are heavy and dense and will take some pumping!!

I don't reckon this will pump a traditional lime render
Traditionally a very dead/heavy material which needs hair/fibres as a binder so it aint going through the R&s

Ive sprayed lime with horse hair through a ritmo. I posted that the zp3 m was a suitable choice but the post was removed.

I agree with PFT wales the ritmo pumps anything one time me and my mrs go so drunk at home she burned the spag bog so i chucked that in the hopper and sent it through the pressure plate and onto the ground then the dogs ate it not sure conveying distance tho we didn't have enough to fill a hose.....

Hi Tom,

As standard the P20 and P50 are only pump units but also have the optional extra of a spray kit.

Below is a screenshot of the basic prices of the pump only. I will work out the cost on the spray kit and let you know what is involved shortly

There are lots of add ons available with these machines, agitators, vibrating hoppers and many others things. In all honesty, most of them you'll not need.

If you want to call me on 01242 236699 I will be happy to help answer your questions, please bare with me though, these two machines are new to me and I'm learning about them myself - if i get stuck I will have to ask the boss Andy :numberone:

The issue I have now is that im getting a lot of churches / listed buildings at the moment and we make our own mixes specifically to what was originally used, ie we need to choose a local aggregate type and type of lime!

I have been tempted to use those parex mortars on private job but they are so expensive!

I have been looking at the pft swing L - it can pump 8mm which is more that I need and its seems to be the best priced, has anyone used this machine? and could it be set up for spraying?

the zp3 M seems good also but there is no spec about it ?

thanks tom

Hi Tom the Swing L and the ZP3 M are suitable. For me i would recommend the ZP3 M as it comes with an air compressor that pushes sprays the gear through the spray gun and it comes with some material pipes . The mixer you mentioned you have can sit directly over the hopper. The Swing L is also a good bit of kit but you would need to add in the air comp and other bits.

You should also factor in a generator aswell to run these pumps.

We tried TY Mawr lime previously and that worked fine.

I think ramboo aka brain is going to take the ZP3 to me. for me to put sand and cement through it. Looking forward to it.

So will these machines Definitely pump sand & cement mix?
Or does the mix have to be a specific mix if that makes sense?

its always going to depend on the quality of the mix and the grading of the sand. because its being batch mixed on site the mix will vary.

Some of the flow screed we pump with machine has all sorts of shizzle in it, 10mm granite and metal reinforcement, Zp3 gets the job done. Most profitable machine I own.
