just saying that I personally have never seen it done to a good standard yet... not saying you cant but everyone I have seen in teh flesh has not been good :D :D :D

What height are u Algee? For im 5'9/10 and I would struggle to reach 3m ceiling off the big stilts, not that I'd be on them at that height anyways lol not confident enough for that s**t. It's a long way down from them lol

It was a stretch mate....ive tied leightweight timber on them before.
But fuuck all that that nowdays.

f**k that is right mate...lol f**k the big stilts too lol I hope anyway, although architects seem to be pushing towards 9 odd foot ceilings in lots houses now. Might had a give em a blast. Why can't they think of us poor souls and keep em all 2.4 lol

Its was half the job than using towers and platforms.

Granted, Stilts are much handier than tressles and planks or whatever. But not nice up full whack. I like them when they ain't up too high lol is there any truth to rumours they are to be banned on sites by health and safety or is that balls?

I just tell them do you want it doing or not.
I get caught using planks smoking all the time...they usually just leave me alone.
Marcus worthington sites....more office staff than workers.
Kier and esh are also cuunts....i always make sure ive got ppe on when i leave my plot/unit just to show a bit of respect.
End of the day its always "when you gonna be done"

Aw some of its nuts mate.not allowed to stand on crates etc. I was gona get Kicked off job for climbing over first lift of scaffold to get to the ground, it was literally 6 foot off the ground, was a 7 block and the steps were at the first house and we were at seventh house. Would had to walk all way up to ladder then wall way back down again lol. Some its nuts like.same site, one board brackets had to be used to get to the walls, but u weren't allowed to take guard rail out so had to go on other side with a F*****g harness like. The gap was only about a plank width, surely if u can fall down through that it's natural selection at work lol

On the big stilts right up you should reach that high no problem

Reckon I'd be about ten or 12 inches off ceiling height? Reachable but bit of a stretch, no? Like to be nearer a ceiling than that, ideally about 6 off a ceiling to be comfortable....

We are talking the ones that go up to 40 inches ?

Yeah mate, 3m(10ft?) is 120 inches? I'm 69/70 inches, plus the 40 109/110ish would leave me say roughly ten inches off?

No truth in it

What about when they have moved in and curtains are up? In morning if lift the curtains away from the wall the sunlight shows ripples

I've told you b4 and I'll say it again u have less chance of getting ripples with one coat.

Youl see a sponge float on 1 of the pics on the window .....i use them only on splay angles together to get them bang on straight when the boarding aint right.
Theres another tip.
Right im finished now ....anymore is gonna cost ya !!!

I've all ways thought the angles looks better when I sponged them but thought I was mad.

The job just drives me nuts clemo....i need something different.
Knowing ive got another 20 years of it makes me wanna breakdown n cry.
I know the feeling. I've a few other things on the go that keeps me ok. But I f**k**g hate skimming and plasterboarding f**k it's a s**t job.

I must be nuts, I quite like skimming unless it dries like blue f**k. Hate boarding though. Was glad to see hols though setting beads outside and block work was miles off, belly in middle of wall meaning scratch is out past the red brick we are supposed to work Into with a stop bead(plus its running off itself at the joint into almost nothing ,before the heavy coat (to keep reveals margining) even goes on, head was melted the day of the hols lol,

If I don't have a hose in my hand when plastering or rendering am not happy lol . Am 33 but been at this s**t since I was 9 if not younger with my dad and uncle. f**k I hate it lol

I still quite like it, long as the jobs aren't pure s**t, nearly 32been at it from 20-21. Near walked away, a few years ago had enough of it at that time, stuck F*****g on bad wages height recession etc etc got interviews with bt and couple engineering places but never any further. My super social skills must have shone through again (I generally can't stand ppl.) but tbh I don't think I'd have liked that sort of work day in day out, say my head would have went after a while lol

Labouring at 9??!!

Thats how easy plastering is as u don't have to be fit or get fit doing it.
