Used my new mediflex today

I thought the cork was great to start with but once a bit of sweat and grease and muck was on it, I found it went shiny and hard to grip. The rubber handle is really nice though.

I love the cork handle. Get a craft knife or the alike and scuff it now and again, takes the plaster off and roughs up for a great grip) . I use 16" trowel.

I never have a single spot of plaster on my handle I hate it, just the dirt and muck off my hand would make the handle too smooth. The actual shape of the handle with the indents is lovely though

Worked with a guy the other week who used this trowel when he went to the sandwich shop I photographed it before I cleaned it it was driving me insane all morning

Cork, Wood or Rubber handle available. The MediFLEX is 4.9" in width. Refinas new one is narrower...
I know i have one you sent it me to try with a rubber handle its much better than the first s*p*r*lex. Refina are not as rounded in the corners as another member quite rightly pointed out. Its just personal preference.

What ever happened to just using a mt trowel. The finish is better when painted. Is that what's it's not all about.
Your right but takes more effort on my weary joints mate after over 28 years spreading I'm getting more aches and pains so if using a superted enables me to carry on that bit longer pain free?? it must be a good thing? mind you i'l bet some of my customers hope I wrap up now

Here is a wall that I did with a s*p*r*lex. It looked s**t when it was painted. U could see some ripples.

Oh dear, I'm not gonna lie, some of mine are getting close to this sort of state :(
Just soak them in water for couple of days cleaning the gunk off each morning and putting back in clean water to soak and they should be good as new after a few days (y)

Am working with an other plasterer today. Am spraying hardwall for him. I get to the job ten to 8. Still the c**t is not here. Am just off the phone to him. Won't be here for an other 40 minutes I've no key to get in. f**k**g hate not getting a start first thing in the morning. I just phoned him and said u f**k**g alcoholic c**t. The funny thing is I don't even know this bloke. A mate asked me would i go and spray hardwall for him. That he will pay me 250 cash when finished spraying 2 rooms. I was hoping to get to an other job for 12. Anyway I might have a wank.

Is it advisable to soak the super flex? Bearing in mind it's only stuck together?

Never had a problem with the refina, the new mediflex is also riveted so shouldnt be a problem either. Makes me laugh how some spreads dont take care of the tools that earn their living???

It's not a good image filthy tools. Also the blokes who drive in filthy vans with crisp packets and energy drink cans all over the dashboard, not a good advertisement really.

I wonder whether this trowel was a freebie??
Is this another marketing exercise by Ryan?!
Is the fact that this trowel was given to one of the forums main posters not another way to sway opinion.
Let's face it everyone loves a freebie. It would be rude not to give it a positive review.
Does anyone remember the Nela premium? Good wasn't it, not heard of it for ages. What about the Eze spat? Amazing and a game changer, gathering dust in the back of the van. Plastic trowels, nick to death.
We are a gullible lot us plasterers.
I'll brace myself for abuse :hola:

I was starting to think the same mate, when you get folk like Cassie shamelessly plugging refina because he gets freebies it does make you question every positive review, rightly or wrongly. Not saying this is the same as Cassie just it does make you think every time someone posts about new stuff being great.

I'm still using the nela premium got to admit didn't like it at first but went giving in on it I thought it left like holes in the wall when flattening and gave a cloudy finish but I really like it now it's worn in

I see what you mean, but I'm sure you'll see from previous conversations and history, Gibbo wouldn't give a good opinion on a product if it wasn't good - especially one from me!

It wasn't as a marketing exercise as I wasn't expecting him to put anything up, but he has and its worked well in fairness - you'll know a marketing exercise from me as we pretty much ask for reviews. No denying the item was free of charge though

Nela premium is still selling well and getting some glowing reviews, we still have the same thing though, 'takes a while to break in'. The EZE Spat continues to be talked about - given not much on the forum.

In all honesty, I was expecting a different reaction from Gibbo - I even mentioned to Danny I was worried what he would say!

After what @stuart23 has said, I see what goes on with certain companies and a certain person. We did give products to people for them to put reviews up - honest reviews. We found some who said the products were bad - Danny's on the Plastic is a perfect example. We had some which were fantastic. We also had some who didn't want to say anything which is fair enough.

One thing we wont do anymore is give products to plasterers for free in order for them to do a review. Recently, when we have launched new products, as we will in the future the people will have to buy them. If they like it, they keep it, if they don't, it gets returned and they get their money back. I think this is now the only fair way of getting honest reviews.

My aim is to keep everything as fair as possible, I don't want to be selling and stocking rubbish stuff, often the negative review is the best review. As seen when @Marshy talked about the NELA premium, I had several chat with him about what needed doing to make it better, next thing you know - its been done. This is the only way things will improve and you guys get the best gear

You also listened about my issue with the tang length on the medi flex before it was launched and fair play it was remedied straight away before its official launch. I like how P1SS listen to comments good and bad. Its easy to say something is s**t but you need to explain and suggest ways to fix things rather than just be negative. And thank god rubber handles are readily available (y)
