Hi there this is my first post as I am new to this forum, ( hi everybody). I wanted to know if it worth getting the speed skim for flattening my walls and ceilings, what are your thoughts on this tools ? Thank you for your time.

Not every body likes them , i use mine sometimes . Worth it though does make it abit easier to flatten stuff in etc . Not a magic wand thou .......

I only use mine on ceilings (Lids :RpS_unsure:) but in my opinion its worth it just for that. Saves the legs, Im gettin on a bit.....just had my 50th :rolleyes)

Give it a go ,i fined them great for larger ceilings (or lids as some like to say ,for some strange reason )

Thanks a lot I'm going to buy a 600mm speed-skim and try it out on my up and coming jobs... Know anything about the finishing blade ?? I've seen a few videos...

think i won a 600 speedskim in the world cup sweepstake, fred. i can let you have it for forty quid delivered if you're interested as I already have one. unless its the SF one then I'll keep it because I don't have one of them. SF must mean steel flange :RpS_unsure: anyway, speedskims are great, I dont care what anyone says. saves me loads of time. just read the instructions on the website :RpS_thumbup:

In my opinion speedskim are great... I can't compare to Eze spat as I hear they are on par.. Everyone has there own opinion.. So I am having mine.!!!

I have the 300,600 and 1200 st blades .. All of which are great for use on multi, bonding, browning, dri coat.. ( don't use hard wall )

I also recently did a flood job in s+c.. And thought ok so I'll see how good the speedskim is on s+c.. Thinking it would be to heavy for it..

Was I wrong!! Floats up like a wet dream..!!!!

As to the sf blade.. I have used this multiple times now getting use to timings etc and can only really say I will use it on board work..

get an eze spat :RpS_thumbup:

Thank you all for the advice I just ordered the speed skim and will update everyone the moment I use this! Maybe I can get the eze spat in the future to see the difference.

Each to their own but I would not be without mine, got the ST & the SF ones and they make my life a lot easier and speed up the process and helps me to stay in control, no more chasing my harris.

Aha I feel what your saying running around the room to flatten your almost still walls!!
Can't wait for it to arrive.

Hi mate i found the 600 /1200 combo a good deal as use them both for flattening out. Takes a little to get used to and works well. Hope it works for you

It will come with the new blue plastic blades which are unbelievably good, once you've got to grips with the timing's you'll find that on new boardwork, its possible to almost finish with the speed skim.
The only thing I'd say is you may find the 600mm a bit small.
once you see what you can achieve with it mate it'll become an absolute essential tool, especially qhen used in conjunction with certain other flexible tools.

I use my speedskims every day 1200 & 1800, the 600 is to small you may as well use a trowel IMO
