Hi,

I'm hoping one of you guys can help me out here as I'm really struggling to find people locally that are experienced applying K-Rend:

I've recently had a new window installed in an existing wall of my house (the garage). Unfortunately the builder wasn't familiar with the type of render (K-Rend) and didn't have the correct tools, so was unable to finish off outside. As a result I have an immediate need for someone to come in and re-render the wall and window reveals in the correct colour K-Rend to match the rest of the house.

Here is the wall (and window):

Unfortunately I don't know the specific colour. From the K-Rend website there seems to be a few that look like they'd match, so it doesn't appear to be an obvious choice.

@johniosaif: Do you mean chip off some of it from the wall and take that somewhere? Any ideas about the sort of place I need to go? K-Rend doesn't seem to be the sort of stuff readily available in regular commercial places, unless I'm mistaken.

Why does the full wall need done? Why not form a nice neat band round the window?

To be honest I'm only really going off the advice of one plasterer who came round to quote for the work. Unfortunately he let me down a bit as he kept saying he'd come over to do the work but then would give excuses and not come. Anyway; he's the one who said it was K-Rend and I must admit, the finish looks very similar to the ones I can see on the K-Rend website, just not 100% which colour it is.

regarding doing the whole wall; I was told it would be very difficult to just patch up because the new render would be very visible against the old, hence saying the whole wall needed doing.

Unfortunately I'm by no means an expert on any of this, I have to rely on what people have told me :(

Ring k rend they will send you samples so you can see the colour , or get a weber colour chart , but like fatarm says would do a neat band all way round window

A travis near me who specialise in plastering stuff have 12 inch samples of all the renders not sure how common place this is.

you could patch it and repaint the whole elevation but personally i would just for an equal raised band in sand and cement and paint if you desire. any local plastering firm will be capable

We are based in swindon. And can pop over to give you a quote if you like?

How long ago was it done? Weber changed it,s colours a few years back. Even if you do get the same colour it will be newer and brighter.

If you think it is Krend chip a bit off that will be within a raised band if you go down that route and post it to Direct Building Supplies in Bradford. If it is one of their colours they will get it in and send it to you even if it is one bag. They will do the paint to a ral colour as well either Jub or K Rends but Jub is nice to use.

Consider the raised band option and paint it in a similar ral colour. Expect to have to at least 16ltrs though! It doesn't come in small quantities.

It would have been applied about 4 years ago as it was applied after we'd moved in (for some reason).

After having a few more people out to look at it I think I'd agree with what a couple of other people had said here in that it isn't K-Rend as the rest of the wall doesn't have the slight qwartz effect to it that K-Rend seems to have. This suggests it is Weber but I've still no real idea :(
