How low should base coat & top coat silicon go?

My plasterer is suggesting just above the air brick - that sits on ground level.

Ie the base coat / top coat finish one brick up from ground level.
Also do you need drip angle bead or regular stop bead ?


It’s soft red brick in poor condition

As said above at DPC level


Don't guess work it


Find the course with DPC, and that is where your join is, nowhere else.

Ideally the two (render) finishes don't touch

Have a break, few mil gap, bell bead for the break is best.

I don't like stop bead or movement bead here - as they don't work as well.
