Hi all, newbie here, my name is Jules.

Stumbled across the forum and thought it would be a good resource for the future.

Bought an Victorian house a few years back that needed modernizing and renovation works and soon got fed up having to work to other trademens timescales so as I needed lots of plastering I took a course and learnt the basics and I'm glad I did!!

Although a basic course it served me well and saved me a heap of cash and the course was re-paid many times over.

After plenty of time work and plastering later the house is finished and although the plaster work isn't up to a professionals standard I'm more than happy with the finish as I still only consider myself a budding amateur!

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies, nice to be made to feel welcomed :)

I'm a he for the record.

Was a real benefit in being taught to plaster but you really only learn to plaster once you're in the real world! The course cost has been re-paid many times over and it allowed me to work to my timescales and not someone else's.

Will be back for more advice for sure!
