Fireplace render

Hi guys ... working at a house with a big fireplace... hes having a wood burner fitted ... want the back of fireplace rendering ... any advice on this ... he also wants to paint it afterwards ...also should i put pink fireboard on the chimney breast ? Any help much appreciated ... pic included

I'd suggest using Bauwer Finish, thank's to its thermal resistance. It could be painted as well [emoji106]

Definitely use fireboard on chimmney breast as the bricks will absorb a lot of heat from the wood burner. And give back of fireplace a good scrub with a wire brush to get rid of all debris and soot.then seal with a pva

Clean down then brick work, then maybe a cement slurry if it's bad then render, 4.1 with a waterproofer and Feb (washing up liquid is also fine then a topcoat of 6.1.1 with lime and rub up to a smooth finish, forget fireline boards they don't stop heat they just take a bit longer to burn also forget the PVA unless your mixing it with the cement slurry.
