wouldnt see the need for one doing that mate, you tried the s*p*r*lex ?? I use that, on anything decent size, might also spat the second coat off, I dont see the need to flatten 1st coat...

Stick to the speed skim for flattening mate it'll bring far less moisture to the surface.
if you haven't got the new blue blade for it there awsome, you'll be better off buying one of those.
then that refina thing.

Did,nt really need a leson in plastering Cassie [already know how to do that ] just wanted to knowif theres any feedback on the new Rafina Derby, shouldn't have bothered posting realy

IMO it could be the worst thing possible for flattening skim they tear when it's wet and won't maintain a true shape, what you need is a metal trowel marshal town are a good brand, try a 13 or 14" and use it similar to how you put the plaster on the wall or ceiling but you will find you can use a longer stroke when flattening

Loving the blue blade for speedskim sooo much better than the old grey one terrace house ceiling was a doddle today.

Absolute pile of poo....dont waste your money, far too flexible, worst £60 ive ever spent when it comes to tools

My mate cuts 1/2 inch of each end of his Refina plazzy then rounds off the corners. Makes it more ridged for troweling up and no lines cos of the round edges
