thinking of buying a new trowel-Marshalltown got couple of stainless ones-14" and a 14" tyzack but thinking 16" gold mt anyone used one if so any good or bit clumsy thanks any replies

Welcome along markymark :RpS_thumbsup: trowel talk is a very deep debate on here, personally I lay on and first rub with Marshall carbon then finish with a supperflax , I've heard the Marshall town elite are good as well as the Kraft elite...choices choices

Welcome mate trowel choice is a minefield these days for me personally the Marshalltown Extralite is the best trowel on the planet (once broken in of course) that can take a good while hence the hysteria over the s*p*r*lex and plastic ranges?? Ive been using the new Nela premium for last while and thats a belter just wish was as wide as my MT

welcome :)

I love nela but have been using an MT 16 for a while but it is strain on the body... not tried the new nelas but wlll do soon enough

I made my own trowel from a idea i got from dougies speedscam video's sometimes the finish ain't all that great but i do leave a complimentary pole sander on all the jobs i do!!:RpS_scared:
I like to go the extra mile for customers :RpS_lol:

Marshaltown 14 had mine for 10 yrs but I change the handles to wood seem to be better grip than the plastic one they come with..

I like the look of the kraft elite trowels they come with leather, wood handles and reasonably priced think i will order one

i started with a 11" Tyzack great little trowel with the rear support bar,i deal for over door way heads.

then moved on to a MT 14" i think sprung steel good work horse but rusted up quick, then i moved onto a MT stainless steel 14" and used for a long while, tried the 20" Kraft lasted about 12 months and it popped :RpS_cursing:.

by then my trustee Tyzack lost its life to a ladder, while in a bucket twas a right off! replaced it with a SS ragini lovely little 11" work horse for overs door ways and the awkward areas.:RpS_sneaky:

now i am currently using the NELA 16" s*p*r*lex WOW! :RpS_thumbsup: didn't think you could get better than MT?
now my MT is enjoying a rest, and only comes out when the s*p*r*lex cant handle a stubborn trowel line.

if you are going to use it for floating, then a 14" 14x5 is fine.if for skimming then a 4x3/4 16" ,personnel preference though buddy, enjoy your quest for the correct trowel for the application!

regards

Davy

I have been using my mt 16inch for 8 years it's mint, use a 14 for float/ render mono and acrylic.
I have all the refina flexi's and spats but still go back to the s/s mt!!
personal preference mon frere
