I’ve had it lately were the grain in the mix once rubbed up is random and when there is more grain in one area an£ less in another it looks uneven or patchy.
In fairness I take that with a pinch of salt,as most people offer to do the cleaning , is this what you have done due to the fact there is so much of it?
@Bauwer may be able to advise you on this a lot of his material s were born that way , gb1 is s finishing plaster but will stay wet in the bucket for hours it would serv a perpos .

I was fishing down the bridge water canal when I was around 16 ,there I was holding my pole at 13 mtrs when splat right in the middle of my head a running down the side of my face!! luck my arse it wasn't no red letter day I assure you.......
I had a job a few months bk ,they wanted me to skim Kittchen over tiles after a long debate we did it on bg s say so over grit ,still there no call as of yet ......
Going by bg tech sheet yes you should if your applying anything wet, us as experienced tradesmen know what we can and can't do imo if I were going to tile it I would just use normal 1/2 inch boards tho
Gps man no offence ment buddy ,am in total agreement with you I wouldn't even use moisture boards tbh,and FYI wether you skim it or tile it or anything else going by the book if your adding moisture to it you should treat it!,just use normal boards ffs......
I know you guys say tile away but this is the reason why bond it was made !!you are ment to apply bond it on moisture boards before you skim it @Vincey might know better......
