They look like cracks when you put sand anf cement on a bit thick and it slumps. I think it's a combination of the ocr being a bit thick between the 3 beads and maybe the scratch not deep enough. Because it's not happened on the wall I scratched in sand cement
Seemed to have disappeared now.
I've just rendered my porch. The side wall was rough painted render so I a chance and gave it a coat of Sbr and scratched it with sand and cement. The front I boarded with external aquapanel scratched and meshed using weber lac. Left it for two weeks.yesterday I topped it using ocr. All went...
Sounds like bullshit to me. Plumbers earn too well to need to be working like that. It would prob kill the average plumber a day like that. Also our jobs not something any Harbert can do. Let alone 7 bags worth
Before internal trowels were around we used box trowels. The old boys who taught me called these twitchers.bloody awful things. Bit of a revelation when we started using mt internals.
I'm in essex. Worked in London mostly. 20 years for same firm. Been on my own for 10 years so no more city work. Nearly all domestic with the odd little site job occasionally
I'm getting a good rate for the flat areas. Just have always measured bulkheads and piers as whatever rate I'm getting per metre. Not sure what to tell him
Just started a job that's got a fair few bulk heads. My mates running it and has asked me if I'm doing them on a linear metreage rate. It's not something I normally do but if there's more money in it I'm up for it. I've priced the rest per m. What do most of yous do
No I said what am I supposed to use it for if not for towelling up. Putting gear on with It?. In response to somenes post.
It's weird because it looks like it's wearing the right way. But the toe of the Trowell must be bent down as it leaves trowel marks. Like I said I only used it for...
I hook them over the edge of my setting bucket. Put it this way I've had my Marshall town I use everyday for at least 7 years. I dont abuse them that's why I'm surprised with the s*p*r*lex
I've had one for about 6 months. Have only used it for giving skimming a first trowel and mainly domestic work so not getting used as it would on site. It seems to have bent. Is this usual. I loved it when I first used it. Bit gutted. Is this normal
Anyone thinking of buying a pair make sure you keep the receipt. I've had a set about 6months but used them half a dozen times. The heel plate snapped and the clip that let's you adjust the height. My original skywalkers seem a lot better
I've just gone back on site after a long stint doing. Domestic. I'm in my van at moment and my necks killing me,split the ceiling in half with a length of fibre tape. Run it down the wall a bit so you've got something to pull. Skim just over tape. Get half so your happy with it pull tape off...
I was hoping I could just use rendaid and then top it with ocr or sand a cement. But it's been a mare getting the board and material that the manufacturer recommends on it top it. It's only about 5Sq Mrs. The rest of the house I'm either hacking off the old painted roughcast stuff or taking a...
And I thought there were sarky bastards on the car forums. Listen when you want some advice on rendering the old way or float and set I'm your man. Unfortunately I don't do any of this thin coat stuff as I know how to use a feather edge
I've just bought a couple of sheets of render board from penlaws. It's smooth on one side and got a mesh on the other. What side do I render onto. Cheers
Dont want to cock up my own house. I've used parex one coat stuff. Bloody horrible. How'd you finish it with a float and sponge. What's the best to use on cement board
Someone said about using a thin coat system over the aqua panel. The aqua panel is just for a porch.i've got the rest of my house to render and I'm doing it in sand and cement as using a thin coat system would be more expensive and I've not used it before. Is that ok numpty
Does anyone know where I can buy a single sheet of external aquapanel. In essex. Penlaws do a cement board but it's only for a thin coat system apparently
Does anyone know where I can buy a single sheet of external aquapanel in essex. Penlaws do a cement board but it's only for this coat systems apparently and I want to render over it
Fair play for working for that rate. But I could never make it pay. We were getting 2.75 a metre skimming 10 years ago off of a subby in London and we all moaned about that
Dont bother with makita radio. They're rubbish. I looked after mine. Always in a bag. Within a week the mains lead packed up. Then the display went and lastly the handle fell off. They were good when they first came out but the quality now is poor. Bit too bassy for me too
Hi thanks for that. My intention is to fix the aquapanel over the existing render and timber so to avoid a vertical crack. It's only about 2 feet wide either side of the door,to each corner of the porch. So I take it I apply this weber lac with a trowel embed the mesh then scratch for a top...
I'm fitting a smaller door in my porch and making up the 8 inches either side in studwork. Instead of using eml or riblath I'm thinking of using something like aqua panel on the outside. Screwing to timber and hammer fix over existing render. That way I've only one backing to render on. Plan...
