i wouldnt artex over pva .use a bit of artex sealer ,

spunky get yerself a bit of 15mm copper tube bend into a u shape so it fits into a bucket [halfway down]then turn over the ends off the tube to clip over bucket edge ,slide the tube thru the roll of tape ,half fill bucket water,roll of tape folding as you go ,do as much as you like ,keeps damp...

soaking it makes it adhere better you dont want it dripping ,leave it 10 mins before you use it,

with the paper tape just immerse it in water ,shake off so its damp apply making sure all the joints have got skim in them ,important to get the air bubbles out but leave enough skim under tape,

or look at the floor and think i aint laying me sheets down there

if the wall is about normal size a plasterer would do it for you for about a ton ,and would skim your plasterboard for another £30-40,you would then have a top job done ,saved yourself buying wba pva tape multi buckets trowel hawk and a load of grief ,also a good feeling of helping out the...

so then who can fix the most in a day on site ie new build, fixing it to a good standard all joints mitered and stuck properly so it just needs a light dust off by painter ,gyproc cove or cornice

ha ha but this it what bg recomend we use over textured finish .....draw backs you have to be good at getting agood finish [ie be a plasterer ]its 3 times the price,it will take twice as long ,and over walls which are subject to more knocks and scrapes it will damage easier than a gypsum based...
