Hello all
I posted previously regarding the G4 machine and maybe getting into liquid screeds.
But after a few conversations regarding the screeds I’ve decided to stick to what I know.
Ocr and bagged render is being used more frequently now instead of sand and cement.
I have a massive house to do...
Ok mate thanks for the advise
Am just in limbo really as I’ve a 32000 sft house to do (internals) with parmurex
And skim finish and need a pump and was thinking of the G4 which I could maybe
Try the screeds aswell but after that job is done my work will be smaller so any pump advise would be...
I might get away with the smart but was thinking just get the standard as it’s not a massive price difference but will need to look into the screeds a bit more as not really sure on how many liters a minute I will need to pump
Hello all
I am getting a G4 as my first decent pump and would like to start using it for liquid screeds and self leveling as well as ocr’s and Other bagged products.
Just want to get full use from it and was wondering if you could recommend a decent
Screed supplier who gives training and...
Fair play to ya that looks the part mate
But think I will be lifting it into the van till I’ve made a few £££
Have you done any liquid screeds with it?
Hello All
Does anyone have a G4 Smart with a generator and loads it into a transit van?
Just wondering if it’s awkward as I know there a big machine
Thanks
I know what ur saying bout a pump not paying but this house is huge and I would apply say the CPI like Andy said with the pump nd skim by hand also this property is 33’000 square feet so there will be plenty of work for the pump to do
It would be nice to use a material that could br pumped on so I could do 3-4 rooms then drop back Skimming a few days later as I would be able to keep the pump going
Hello
Been aske to price a large house internal only
Normally I would go for hardwall and skim but just wondering if any of you use different backing coats
It going onto 7n blocks. Am thinking of buying a pump if I get the job.
Thanks
The sponge debait!!!!
Personally I think they leave. Better finish and make it easier.
My timing would be well out if I went back to just troweling up without .
Do what gives you your best results and makes your day easier
At the end of the day it’s results that matter and the £££££
I’ve used a sponge for 15 years and I always lay down my second coat and let it pull in slightly then sponge and trowel twice with a stainless steel mt
Then polish with a plazzi
I tried flattening with a plazzi but ended up looking a bit ruf when painted but looked great before
Most of the EWI jobs I do all have original casted sills so the customers still want to retain that look.
These sills have been extended with eps and meshed and beaded
Does anyone use the insulated oversills with the built in drip
Ok thanks for your help mate.
The reason I asked is that I've a 30m2 shed to do and I have bags left over from a job and I was gona use them. And he wants to paint it on completion
I find the hp14 rubs up lovley just like s&c
I found Parex pricey and the lads a CCF didn't really know the products they were selling. I asked for white and got sent natural white
Like rigsby said it's beige.
I don't use it anymore I use fassa which is far better and cheaper
They never had the tools we use now in 1890 or 1972
If there would of been plasterboard in 1890 no one would of pissed about with lath and plaster. Plus you would of been going to work with a horse and cart.
Times Change and so do methods and if it makes it eisier it got to be a good thing
I always use a sponge on skimming I personally think it's a great finish
Plus it's far eisier to trowel up and gets it flat and works well on curved ceilings.
But it's like any form of plastering if it works well for you stick with it.
I skimmed a load of concrete beams in a big underground car park
One coat of pva then stick the beads then another stronger coat of pva and skim away it's still there to this day
It's harder to get a neat finish with a bell cast bead with sand and cement.
I've done plenty of jobs were they want a bellcast bead so there slabs can slip under so the rain water can fall away from the wall
But sometimes we put a proud plinth which also covered the dpc.
There's lots of...
I've done hundreds of rendering jobs without bellcast beads
I don't see the need to be honest. I have fitted bellcast when I've been asked or it's been a spec but some people get confused when it comes to dpc and bridging. Don't forget that a dpc is designed to let moisture out aswell
hello all
I've just finished my first job using hp14 and I think it's great stuff to use .
The only thing I would say is that it stiffens up fairly quickly.
Should you mix it fairly wet?
If am on outside sand and cement I can use bull nose skirting about 5ft length
I also use a derby but never used one with handles there a waste of time on render.
If I hardwall I use a feathered edge rule with a rounded edge instead of sharp edge.
:birra:Well you should give it a go just ring around a few firms and you might get lucky and the summers nearly here so the weather will be nice.
We blast over to cateret in France on a mates boat and go for a meal mussels and wine and a few pints when we get back to gorey
:muyenojado:Parex natural white looks more magnolia than white
On my first parex job I did a 200m2 gable to match the rest of the building
I asked for white and the sent natural white.
What a ball ache rep said it was parex fault.
Had to be painted
If it's quoins or keystones just cut them freehand if there thicker than normal just scratch them out to suit.
If it's ashlar render then plained oiled timber timber and knib the scratch out to the front edge.
Worked for me a few times
hello and welcome
I am based in jersey and yes it is lovley place.
It I quiet difficult to just arrive here looking for work.
You need to have worked here for five years in the farms or hotels before you can work anywhere else.
You could be taken on via a lience which can be aquirerd...
When you started doing it did you try pushing the product or was it word of mouth?
I know what you are saying that I might hardly do any jobs plus it will cost me £1200-1400 to do the cource
