    How can you put a breathable coating over a none breathable sub strate .? Why would you do that ? It’s pointless ! Do not waste your money. I can not understand why these companies make such products. When using lime you Do Not use any additives - Nothing ?

    For every millimetre of screed it's one day dry time , so for 65mm = 65 days But as you know if you are careful you can walk on it the next day

    Flynnyman Hi What I meant about free hand there will be no staff beads or angle beads We worked it out that it would take 2 joiners about three weeks to fix the timber staff beads so we formed the angles with the float coat and then skimmed them. I will post some more pics of finished areas

    here are a few pics of our latest project - its a grade one listed house in the north midlands we have used 12,200ft of lath, 48000 stainless steels fixings, 16 tonnes of haired lime backing coat and we will use 2.5 tonne of lime putty its all free hand and we are about 65% complete...

    Yes you stick your neck out if you advise on specification, it's always best to do as asked. There again I had a job in the other day to price and it said " haired gypsum rough coat" ffs lol That time I did say something.

    Hi, lime plasterer no we didn't use the mesh and it came out fine,client is chuffed , it was all over 15mm thick and we gave it plenty of time between coats. We always use the mesh on external render though. We have also done a lot of lime hemp on wood woolboards with no, mesh no cracking...
