Which ladder?

I need a decent extension ladder, as close as possible to 8m. I know next to nothing about ladders, and given that I'm going to be up to 7m off the ground I'm inclined to get this purchase right first time.

The ladder will be used for two primary purposes.
1. Clearing gutters
2. Attempting to kill myself while using a hedge trimmer on the various trees and bushes around the garden.

Ideally it'd be 3 sections with the possibility of also using as a step ladder, but that's not essential. I'd love to get suggestions on a solid bit of kit that I can buy and expect to use for the next 20 years, rather than head over to amazon and get whatever one has the best reviews from people who have probably used it once before posting (I once saw an Amazon review in which the person acknowledged that they hadn't even received the item yet).

Any help/pointers appreciated.

Cheers

Werner makes semi decent ladders, your best bet would be getting one from brewers or SDM or DDC or anything similar decorators place where they usually keep it in stock so you can have a look before you buy one.

If get one with good wide treads if you intend working off it for any length of time.......thin ones make your feet hurt.
All the best. Dropsalot

I like the wickes triple extensions.

Bloody wide and sturdy as.

Also there capable of setting up a few different ways.

I think I gave just under £200 ish.
