Apply coats in 10mm thickness as often as you can, when the previous coat is firm to touch and adequately keyed apply the next coat. What thickness you building out to?

Hi thanks for the input I am going up to 20mm so I thought I would need to build up using 3 coats using a pva mix between each one

I did think about boarding but the surface is not great and wanted to get a good finish hence bonding which I haven't done for a long time hence my question but thanks for the thought

If your not very experienced with bonding you may be better off going the boarding route.
All you need for dabbing is a spirit level and a straight edge as long as your boards level and plum you'll have a good surface to get a good finish on!

Roughing out the wall If not very experienced will be a lot harder take longer and then if you let it set a few days before skimming you've got the suction to take into account.

You should see some of the shite I've dabbed over these last few months.

Throw some bonding in your dab mix it bulks your dabs up and there not as heavy if you need a thick dab to receive your boarding
