Why would it suit a beginner or diyer or someone who has t got a clue? If he sold it I would say he was on par with the bloke who made up rising damp, a f**k**g genious I wish him good luck I hope he sells it and in six week time we will get some fella come on and ask us what to charge :)

You having a bad day ? Lol

Hello. My name is Derek and I am seeking a buyer for my established plastering business. It would suit a beginner / diyer orsomeone looking to start off in plastering as it has been established for over eight years and so has a good customer base. I am in Kirkwall on Orkney. It is priced at £10 000. What you will get for your money-

A Ford transit 260 SWB TD. 2002. 171 000 miles and four months mot

Scaffolding and planks, ladders, work platforms, youngmans

Loads of different trowels and accessories. Plaster mixer. Site light. Belle cement mixer. Tarpaulins. Basically everything you will need to start your own plastering business. I can arrange the transfer of my existing mobile number but not my landline. That way you get the most valuable asset - my past customers. There are no premises for storage so the buyer will have to arrange storage.

I will personally work with any potential buyer for six weeks giving you a crash course in plastering and allowing you to tackle jobs on your own. I cannot pay anyone for those six weeks so if you can keep that in mind.

If anyone is interested please get in touch. This is a ongoing concern. You will be be setting yourself up for years to come in a lovely part of the world.

Any thought on some of the comments shared @derekf? Have you had any interest yet? Is this item for sale on eBay?

He is only selling it because Thatcher shut the mines ! Wait for it wait for it ........lol
It is a Tories dream this offer Derek has put on the table, think about it, they sell you the dream, setting you up in business, getting you off the dole, they will train you up in six weeks, unpaid. Then for the measly sum of a £10.000 loan which I know we said was gonna be free but we changed our minds ;). You are off our books, you pay your own way from now on YEH we know you will crash and burn but that's business folks :)

I know of a reasonably successful landscaping buisness that sold for quite a considerable amount of money and included five vans, tools and a yard with a house on it,the new buyer kept the 12/15 employees on but shortly after all work came to a halt and the lads were laid off,the thing was even though it was successful and had a good turnover it was an intimate buisness that customers based their trust in on a personal level, take away the personal connection and you have no repeat buisness.

Did you buy your council house ! Lol

I've heard of a massive builder who sold his property company for millions then set his sons up and got what they had back. There was a big plastering company sold in manchester just before the bump and I'm saying just before lol he was always a smart bloke. I also know of a restaurant that sold with a. Hotel attached and they sacked the whole of the staff and turned it into apartments :)

I figured it out. To bring some semblance of rationality to this post ... Kirkwall in Orkney has 10,000 inhabitants therefore the business is worth £10,000 bit of due diligence and it all makes sense!

im interested, derek. just a question or two. could you be more specific in regard to the plant? is is just the one site light? and what make and model is the mixer. and the trowels. what make are they? im not a brand snob, to be honest. i go for quality. whether its the most expensive or not. or whether its the most advertised or not. i know what i want and what i dont. also, could you breakdown the overall price. price for the van, price for the tools, price for the sim card etc. im specifically interested in the contact book if you would be willing to sell that separately.

ive been putting a lot of thought into this @derek. and im interested. dont let all the negative feedback dishearten you. there is precedent for what youre attempting to do. ill be honest and say ive looked at a few others this week but yours seems to be the best deal. pm me with further details. looked at these but decide against
