How much is too much PVA?

Hi everyone

I've 'acquired' a small house in northern France.

I recently skimmed a small hall landing and was surprised at how quickly the plaster went off - we're talking minutes here and I had to sponge float it back to life!

The same plaster can be found on all the ceilings and due to me being a bit of slow coach, I want to be able to control things for longer.

Therefore, to control suction, if I was to apply 4 coats of PVA, would this be enough/overkill?

Cheers

quality Pva seals better than cheap. Allow 1st coat to harden for 8+ hours as hardened Pva seals better than the fresh tacky Pva

Suctions your friend not your enemy!

Put smaller hits on and use same mix to lay it down!

Put 4 small hits on a day!

To many plasterers trying killing the suction!

1 coat. At 50/50 of a quality PVA left to dry is enough for any surface!

Suction is your friend....... until it's high enough to make it craze......... then it's like an ex girfiend that won't leave you alone
