Just seen on multi bags BG promoting the certified scheme.
Is it good news for the trade?
Or is it just a scam to try and force tradesmen onto the scheme?

Had a lab on with me yrs ago knew everything according to him, I fukked him off obviously .
Next time I see him driving about with FMB sticker on his van lol :sorprendido3: :hueco:

It pisses me off to be honest. It was sold to me as a unique scheme that they were going to limit the number of people on. Seems like every Tom dick and Harry will have it soon.
How do they choose who to give the work to then?! It's a joke! Not had one job from it anyway and been on it close to a year.

Still only 120 on it , presuming more applications have been rejected than accepted tbh.

Heard the target is 2000 but I already said think they'd struggle to get that many plasterers on as most people nowadays are Multi turds

Ive applied thinking it would be an exclusive club, but I can see eventually more and more pressure being put on spreads to join.
Once everyones in it will be just another worthless piece of red tape for everyone and will carry no worth.

More importantly I wanted the sticker on my van to p1ss my nephew off...but now he'll just go and get certified....:frenetico::frenetico:

I said this before,,,domestic customers do not give a crap about schemes like this,,,their are loads ,,they only care about how much.

You know me mate I'll try anything once , my main goal at minute is my getting out of plastering plan, until then all I bothered about is getting out from days at work as fast as I can,

Was even thinking train driver tbh, new station just opened in my town

The reason I disagree is because how much in my experience is not the only criteria or the deciding factor, I've always found for the sake of a few quid people hire based on who will most likely do the best job, and whom they would like in their home to do the work.

They want as many that will sign up and pay an annual subscription, because every year there will always be people not signing up again

If you do leave you should become a motivational speaker. I love your upbeat and positive attutude. Seriously. Or a postman. Because you always deliver.
Thanks Kaester, You got good point there , was brought up with pma, suppose it's just how I am.

When life gets us down, just keep on going,
The only way is up! Baby

I said from the start that this "scheme " is just that a "scheme" for BG to con money out of you? I know it was "free" for a chosen few but really what's it worth?? If your well enough established and good at your job? You don't need this piece of toilet paper as that's all its fit for in my opinion anyway. For you who are on it that's fair enough that's your choice but I don't need this gimmick for me to keep getting offers of work.

I'm on a free course on Wednesday to try out the performance plasters. Stuff like that is good and a positive part of being involved.
This applicator thing came to me though, I didn't go looking for it and think that it would bring me tons of work. It is odd when no work at all has come from it! Can't see myself carrying on when I'm asked to pay for it.

Cracks already appearing and that's with only 120 members lol

I'm surprised at this Pete. Thought you lived and breathed plastering. This job gets to us all at times!

how about this maybe others are coming across better when better ? Don't always assume cost is the factor, mind you your anywhere north of Northampton and maybe you are right

Quality and first impressions go a long way. If you are professional it will shine through but there are always a few who only go for price.

I dont want to work for those people!

Im west of Scotland,,,,some customers show me quotes and ask to match or beat it.impossible prices.they are too many variables in locations in UK.how many spreads in area etc,,,,,,,don't have a problem about how i come across because my reputation in area is good.agree some people take to you or not.been doing it over 35 years and market has changed domestically big time in my area since recession and ease of social media.which also reveals some of these so called plasterers backgrounds.
My market is driven by cost ,some guys here a self employed and charging less than national employed hourly rate.utter crazy.

Think I'd rather live on the highest peak of a mountain in Scotland, in a tent than next door to Gordon
