Festool mixer

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, I'm in the market for a new mixer, I currently use the makita ut120 which I purchased in 2004 so has serviced me well. So I am used to the variable speed system, being able to lock off the trigger at low speeds! Having looked at many mixers the new makitas and Refina mega mixers all seem to be variable triggers and only locking of at full speed so my choice is the new festool mx 1200 e or festool mx 1600/2, were hoping some one out there has used one and could advise if it's any good
Thanks

Get the mx1600 nice little mixer mine going for a good while

festool tools are good quality but expensive.
i used the festool light it lite up the wall to natural day light. only needed the one light the best i have used, at £230 it will put some off.

Thanks for the welcome and replying!
I know festool is expensive but I have learnt you only get what you pay for with tools, so not bothered with costs just want some thing I can rely on day in day out the mx 1600 looks like a cracking machine also like the idea of being able to adjust the height
