ive got to say a big thank you to scott from speedskim for helping me out
just before xmas, i had a phone call from my ex telling me her mate needed some plastering done a.s.a.p, as her tumbler dyer had set fire and ruined the kithen and smoke damaged the rest of the upstairs.
sorry to say it, but i though nice one insurance work.
then she said the woman has no insurance because her and her kids are living hand to mouth and she could not afford it, so could i go round and sort the plastering out in her kitchen and see what i could do..
so i said ok no probs as long as the materials are paid for, so i went and seen the job, people everywhere hepling her strip the kitchen and wash the walls.
all i could see was black the lights were done in, so i just said ill do it, and to get the bloke there to help me and ill start as soon as the rooms empty.
so i thought ive nothing too loose on this job and id like to try out a different way of plastering.
Now i already use the 1200 speed skim with blue plastic blade and i find it a godsend for flattening walls and celings, so quick and your covering a good size area, so i phoned up scott to ask about getting a metal blade for the 1200 one ive already got and just keep swapping them around, scott said thats not a good idea, but the reason behind it is because i am tight like most plasterers so thought this the best plan.
while chatting i told him about this job id got and why id wanted to have ago with the metal blade.
well scott does no more than say i will send it you for free, the whole 1200 long speedskim with metal blade and free postage aswell.
his words, well your doing something good and for nothing at christmas so ill do the same for you.
well i use the speedskims on all my work and anyone who has used one knows how good they are and save time and effort covering a good sized area easier than your normal trowel....
so all i can say is scott, you are a good honest man and thank you so much for sending me the speedskim, your a true gent...

What a great post , Respect

Got to respect that hats off to Scott, one question though don't you find the 1200 a little to big for domestics? I love my blue blade 600 for flattening in,it's a godsend on the ceilings I do on the pole no more up and down

I dont really use anything else... the smaller ones seemed pointless

Some jobs they work some they don't. I don't like them on reskim. Plasterboard on good runs I like. Skimming is guy

Gonna disagree with you for the first time ever, I will show you they good on reskim while you show me one coat.

600 is my favourite too

I don't mean u can't flatten on a reskrim just s**t in the way boxes on walls pipes and so on.

Well that 1200 has just made this a breeze

Hi Tony,
Sorry only just seen this. Thanks, you are so welcome -it really was nothing and glad Speedskim could help out. Hope she is getting on well and she's all straight now. Really lovely gesture from you doing all that work. She must have been overwhelmed with the kindness :) :) #whatmakesushuman :)

honestly, i did all the work there inbetween working on another house which put me back, so had to work upto xmas, but i got the old kitchen out of this other house and the joiners gave me two more new units that were over from the job towards her kitcken, the woman never once even offered a cuppa tea, or a drink and never even said thank you.
i kid you not, she just sat in the front room, she never said a fcuking word.
when i text her for the money for the materials, which other people had paid for and the merchants had discounted even more, she text back, in your bank, she had gone and put it in but, so ungreatful, but i felt good helping someone out..so ill take that.
but a massive thank you too you again.......an awesome piece of kit you supply and a top man to deal with thanks.. Tony
