    Thinnest insulating board for walls

Is Instastick a spray on glue and is it permanent? I spoke to a plasterer who prefers dot and dab which I think would add thickness to the plasterboard and the final plaster coat making the room even smaller. Would you know how much thicker would dot and dab add to the wall? Thank you.

    Thinnest insulating board for walls

The wallpaper does look a bit crinkled in the corner of the wall by the front window. I don't think it's too serious, but I will have to peel off the wallpaper before I find out for sure.

    Thinnest insulating board for walls

Hello, I live in an end terraced house. I am thinking of insulating my boxroom and the hallway/landing as those areas get very cold in the winter. I can't afford external insulation. What is the thinnest energy efficient thermal barrier I can put in? I don't want to lose space as the boxroom...

Hello - I need advice regarding internal wall insulation

Budget up to £1500. Won't the person putting up the plasterboard do the skimming as well?

Hello - I need advice regarding internal wall insulation

I am looking for a local plasterer ( Mitcham, Sutton, Croydon) to do the following work - - Internal wall adjoining the room shows lots of cracks. This wall to be meshed all over, covered with a joint compound then skimmed with thin layers of plaster. - Ceiling crack taped, existing...

Hello - I need advice regarding internal wall insulation

Why would you never dot and dab plasterboard onto an external wall with no cavity? I am assuming you are talking about an inside wall which is the main outside wall of the house.

Hello - I need advice regarding internal wall insulation

I don't mind spending more money, if the plaster will last me for a long time and also if the insulation provided by the insulated plasterboard is very effective and keeps the room warm. I don't work by budgets because I have never done this before and wouldn't have a clue as to how much this...

Hello - I need advice regarding internal wall insulation

Thank you for all your replies. I want to insulate the wall from inside, not insulate the external walls of the house. What is the best thickness Recommended for ready insulated plasterboard? I would like the room to be really warm in the winter.

Hello - I need advice regarding internal wall insulation

I live in a 1930s house near Croydon, the external walls are not insulated neither does it have any gaps between the bricks. I am planning to insulate the inside wall surrounding the window in the upstairs bedroom (size 13"x11").The walls are very crumbly and the plaster has come off in places...

Bathroom wall coated with cement/sand/adhesive and waterproof mix - ? tile over

How many days should I let it dry? The old rendering, I assume done in 1930 was atleast 1" thick. That's why, I was bit worried whether the weight of large tiles should stay attached to a thin coating of the cement/sand mixture.

Bathroom wall coated with cement/sand/adhesive and waterproof mix - ? tile over

I am in the process of refurbishing my bathroom. I knocked off all the old ceramic tiles. The condition of the rendering/plastering was really bad. I called a plasterer, who has applied a single 1cm coating of cement/sand/adhesive and waterproof mix. I need to know - Whether a single coat is...
