What’s the point of having Ewi if you have 50mm cavity between the insulation and the wall? Protection from the UV light I guess?
Dan is right about the carrier board , guess he means render carrier board. Done numerous schools with 200mm insulation over cement board.
 
Trying to get a rep to look at it ,not easy to get them in, Weber don't respond at all ,they want to spec online only ,
Ps what's the normal rate per m square

You have no hope with reps, waiting on parex 5 weeks now, Weber rep didn't bother ringing back either nor as Mapei wonder how they earn their keep

Maybe an area thing ? I never asked a Weber rep to come out until 2 weeks ago , he came after I phoned , 6 days after contact but he only covers this area, said bell him anytime and he’d check any job out , one was in dronfield which is far old drive for me I said is that ok he said fine
 
What I will do in your case is mark the studs, tyvek paper over the ply , fix the boards with screws as normal +2 extra for the stud .
 
I don't get the jist of it why would you have to vent it. If anyone has a link or literature on this to read up on would be much appreciated if they would share it for the rest of us.

That’s the problem mate, YouTube can’t help on here. It’s understanding the job and experience that will get you out ;).

I love YouTube, especially marshy's channel. I'm not knocking what others say just can't get my head around it

Neither do I. I have never criticised someone else’s job! You don’t know the circumstances that have led to the results-money,condition etc.For me having a gap between the insulation and the wall eliminates the effect of having ewi .But that’s my opinion of course and it doesn’t have to be right.

That was my initial thought. If that's the correct way to do then it beats the whole idea of having ewi in the first place

believe me ....they would be there the same day if you were buying enough of their product.

You might be right, trouble is when they being all nicey nicey to you over the phone and email at first time then they disappear like gorrillaz in the fog. I think I'm a quite straightforward person, just tell me if you can't be f**k*d then I won't bother you or expect you to do what you promised you gonna do, simples

emails are the worst thing that happened to the construction industry.
its seems to be an excuse to ignore someone or they looking for an answer to someones f**k up.
its the worst for renderers onsite waiting for an email off the agent to the archtecht to the scaffolders to who f**k*d up what.
ive seen firms loose a lot of money through emails usually through remedial works.

merseyside plastering ltd in the recession were booming with contracts they had from keepmoat homes in the north west.
ripping down bad estates and rebuilding them.
sheffield insulation was their supplier.
they bent over backwards for merseyside because often they admitted it was them who kept them afloat.

Don't use either is my opinion mapie cracks and Johnstones are a complete shower of shite, use Jub or ewi pro both good systems if money's no problem call sto

It's bad in a way, but on the other hand you have something to go back to or throw into their faces if things go south and they will still have the applicators error to blame it on you

as of redrose dryling in the boom times......travis in the north west would drop anyone to keep them happy.

I called, emailed tweeted dead and alive so far apart from Jub and Sto, money not an issue. I give them a chase tomorrow(y)

contacts and emails dont add to much in construction...
theres always a small printed excuse.
ive had reps out telling me im "plastering in high altitudes"
this is why my finish is flash setting.
you couldnt make it up !!

Just remembered what about giving P1ss a ring , Ryan always returns calls , emails and enquiries, can’t fault the guy
