What render are you using ? Wetherbys styrobond in few coats with mesh will level it out. It's very hard when set and lots of fibre in it. And you will need that, if the blue insulation is what I think it is.

I haven't ordered anything yet ,I'd like to do it but I want it right .any help is appreciated

CRT international in romford
Sig, CCF, probably depends on which system you going with
Can you not dryfix a 20mm thick slab on top of the existing insulation then you don't have to dub it out with gear.

They've passed on the pool for now ,( there's a consultation going on about what was asked for ) I have a first floor bay to insulate with 90mm ,basic job , white finish is all that's asked for , CCF didn't have it in ,said they'd have to order through Weber and I'd need to be registered so I got it online ,Ewistore. This was a previous job ,when I got it online ,haven't ordered or priced this yet @Marshy might advise on Monday

P1ss sells Mapei system from the shelves, Johnstone decorating merchant sells their own system you can order it in the shop not stock items but a few on here used them
Selco sell some of the Johnstone range ,top coat and base and mesh but little else

Very handy for my second job doing Ewi , I might try ewistore , what sort of prices for supply and fitting £1500 or so , about 15msquared
I've no idea, last I done was in 2005 in the continent
I'm sure the usual render guys can give you a ballpark figure

Is it normal practice to prime ply before applying adhesive dabs for Ewi . I had thought you might be just able to screw them on ? Never did it over ply ,second job of Ewi ever
What you dab it with?
Foam is what you need and mechanical fixings, but I'm no expert

Not dabs like multipurpose, the normal stuff that you apply to Ewi
Timber frames a different ball game to solid subs, it would need batten and counter batten to form a ventilated cavity, or a cavity rail system, render carrier board then an ewi system, best speaking to a ewi render manufacturer just to get a spec off so you've got something to work to and as a point of reference if sh1t goes south, was that a new build by the way? If so why would it need insulating externally shouldn't it have an insulated cavity? If so do away with the ewi system onto the render carrier board and just apply the mesh coat and texture?

what are the timber studs around the windows for?

as mentioned ideally there needs to be a 50mm cavity. if there is behind that ply then great. you can direct fix into that timber aslong as its over 12mm thickness.

if not.cavity ideally again vertical roof battens with a sheathing board over the top. 12mm plus....(render carrier board hasnt got a pull out strength for insulate anchors.).

then direct fix insulation to the boards

looks an odd project that.
Leave a 10 mm gap at the top under your soffit if your battening out aswell as the bottom, for air flow behind which ever system you use.

Internally ,the stud is plasterboard and skim , then external it's the ply that you see,the timber around the window is there to hold it in situ, the insulation would need to be cut around that
