work with Weber OCR, i will be rendering up to the maximum 15mm thick so do you try and get it on at that in one coat or put two 7.5mm coats on the same day , or would you scratch day one and float day two , not done much with ocr ,so looking to one of you young racing snakes to spill.

Not much experience with it @Wezly but the last one I did ,I used render grit the week before then banged on a coat in two passes,a mesh in between, ruled and floated, found it horrible to use but turned out ok

Do you find it is harder to rub up than say normal render?
Difficult to say mate I find it a bit more chewy but that's the polymer in it prob I love sand an cement but sign of the times an all that OCR great if you want to do same day hit an get finished

As said by the monk bang a coat on first thing then another coat same day.if I was you get first coat on by say 9,then another on by say 11 that gives you plenty of time to rub up.
I hav'nt tried it but some guys on here leave a few mil over beads then i section then float/sponge

Stuff barring it, rule it neat and it's a dream to rub up. Don't have the gear to wet or if you do run a feather over it after the initial rule off.

What mesh where you using? I don't like mesh with the small 4/5mm holes for anything other than adhesive coats. I find it reduces adhesion between the passes on heavy renders. Tv10 is my preference for ocr/mono.

Know what you mean with the 4mm mesh. Weber ocr is nice and creamy but for one coat? It depends on suction control. I had a concrete block wall to do what was dry in one place and damp in another. The suction area gave problems.

If you have suction control then on in 2 passes. The less suction then by hand 8mm if possible, rule off and let stiffen up then second pass. Spraying same but more wet on wet. Has a bit of a habit of slump cracking on the no suction backgrounds but mesh in between helps. Higher suction then it can be a bit of a pain like any sand and cement drying before you can finish it.

I always seen to get a slump crack somewhere with webers ocr, no matter how up together you have the gear, it's nice gear just a bit too fine I think.

Yes, too fine, more like building sand than sharp sand. I now put a trowel full in a plastic bag, wrap up air tight and use that for the slump cracks. For those late in the days rub ups at the cooler time of year put the bag in a fridge to keep it green for the next morning. A hint given by PFT Wales. Do the same with mono for when the scrapings are a bit too dry.

4mm red mesh

4mm red mesh
Not that cheap nasty stuff from R & J and the like? I have seen that stuff turn to mush within render and blow the top off, I have wondered if it has any alkali resistant coating or if it's just dipped in something red to make it look the part.

Yes,cheap and nasty I expect, I am new to it all.

We pretty much just use parex gear most the time as the supplier is local. Their 10mm mesh is Tv10, 5mm is Av355. You can feel the difference between your fingers with the coatings on these against the cheap stuff.

I would like to have some 10mm ,

Thanks guy's i'am new to it really, so i will try two passes like said earlier ! we will be doing the floor of the pool in the same but i will use wooden grounds as it's like render :)

If doing 2 passes, make sure you go wet on wet, I tend to do a lift at a time, it picks up quite quick, you could get 15mm on easily going over 5-10 mins after laying first pass on. Rule off straight away after putting your second pass on, otherwise it tears. I don't like floating it....I tend to give it a quick float followed by sponge. Doesn't like going on thicker than 20mm in 2 passes.
