Hi Rob, sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you. Thanks for your enquiry.

We only have two outlets at the moment in GB – our own depot in Manchester Trafford Park, or Durham Render Centre in the north east. We will have stock of GP render in Trafford Park from next Tuesday. If you have a trade account with a local merchant or distributor, then we could make some arrangements for you through them. We are starting to stock all the main Kilsaran renders in Trafford Park now, including the one coats (monocouche), Superbond, GP renders and dash receivers.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,
Alan

I hear kilsaran do have a manufacturing plant in ireland, I thought it was krend at first but someone on here recons they do make there own. bagged mortars and the like are very similar sounding to what krend have though. they nabbed a photo off ours and used it on their website so maybe they can do me a special discount. been selling it out of trafford for a few years now

It's a Henkel texture from Poland and a base from Ireland...mmm...wonder where that comes from???

I have spoke to one of there guys and they are sending me down half a pallet with some mono, bagged OCR and a superbond material.
I will let you know what it's like.
Do I need permission @ Danny?

I don't think its Henkel ceresit. I had a look into this product a while back. I didn't like the look of the texture as it look cheap and washy.

Kilsaran specialise in bagged renders although it is possible the have added an acrylic to the range in which case they may have borrowed that particular component as aggeragate companies very rarely have chemical paint factories too.

A contact of mine was approached by them and was told it was Ceresit made by Henkel...I bet it is just the primer and texture that comes in and they bag the base in Ireland.

Yeah that must be the case. The texture will be from a paint chemical company such as say Henkel. Most actually mine and bag their own mortar but nearly all get texture from another company. Basf make texture for loads of render manufacturers

Kilsaran will warrant the system under licence. It the same with all manufacturers, look at Wetherby they don't make a single thing everything is put together from all other systems and re branded but it doesn't mean they can't warrant it.

I just read that kilsaran partner the Henkel ceresit system where thin coat systems are needed so this will be any Ewi system or any acrylic or silicone texture system.

The mono and base renders and all the masonry systems are there own produce

Kilsaran render is a copy of CPI. The bloke that is over it used to work for CPI. I have used there mono and gp render it's the same as CPI.

Did two walls today 1 with Weber ocr on rend-aid and an average 12mm thick and another with Kilsaran ocr at least 12mm thick. Both walls had mesh embedded in the renders on the top third.

There is a difference and Weber is finer and easier to rule as the Kilsaran uses a very sharp sand but that is not a bad thing imo. The Kilsaran set the faster of the two but being grittier it took more work to rub up and get to a flat finish but it is acheaivable.

Kilsaran ocr is a bit like SAS Europe's float.

For a really flat finish for a painting job maybe Weber but my confidence for a more durable hard wearing render then Kilsaran. If for example the two renders was to be left exposed to the elements over time my bet will be with the Kilsaran product as Weber uses more like building sand rather than a sharp rendering sand.

As for price? I am paying the same. But Kilsaran's equivelant to rend-aid is £5 cheaper so a saving there. So far impressed and will use it again.

I have only used 2 bags of CPI general purpose render and that was years ago.

Anypne used their Monocouche?

Rang em for some beads last week he took my number and said someone will ring in 5 mins.

4 days later someone rang. Bye byee.

Sprayed their Monocouche this morning. Spraying wise nothing fantastic but on for 11am and started scraping back at 3pm. Done for 5.30pm.

It it is a fine texture material and easy to finish. Temperature 19c.

It was. 12mm spray on 5 mm super bond (rend-aid).

As as for service from Kilsaran, well they delivered 2 sample tubs of bucket coat personally from Manchester to Sheffield last Friday and on this job we are 8 bags short so are delivering the 8 bags tomorrow and delivering 25 buckets to the door themselves on Monday.

Prices take some beating.

There mono in Ireland is about €4.50 a bag cheaper then krend.
