Patching render

My neighbor has just asked me if I can repair a section where render has fallen off on the outside wall of his kitchen.
it's only on one wall where the render has come off, right at the side of the angle bead. the rest of the render around it is all solid and the corner bead is still fixed in place.

there is also a problem with the paint that was applied a few years ago. there are cracks in the paint (not the render) and some of the paint has flaked off in places.
I would like to know what is the best way to repair this damage, I would also like some advice on paint that won't flake off and crack as easily as the existing paint has.

Jet wash, patch & arylic

Or to do it proper

Jet wash, patch with parinter/lanko, parinter then DPR

The kitchen is a concrete block extension which is rendered, the rest of the house is stone.
after the patch work has been done the extension all needs re painting anyway.

Why not just remove the failed render, apply a slurry coat if there isn't a sufficient mechanical key left on the blocks, re-render and then paint the whole area with a decent branded masonry paint.
Expensive Parex materials aren't always the answer.

If the paint flaked off then not being mist coated may be the problem.sort the render then mist coat with smooth sandtex or Dulux equivalent.

Thanks guys.
I think my neighbor was in a bit of a rush when he painted last time. I think he only put one coat on and the paint wasn't exactly high quality.
