Diesel machine for site

Ryan, Ian isn't arguing that the Ritmo is a better tool than the diesel! Nor is he trying to flog him a ritmo.
The fact is bobby has a ritmo at present which CAN be used for what he is asking, and your telling him he needs diesel (which incidentally would chomp into his profits by 20K at a guess).

As for saying its more labour intensive, you keep pushing pre blend, which with his ritmo you just dump the bags in and go, with a diesel you have to have a guy stood there batching! So in that respect using a ritmo with site mix ain't much more work than using the diesel anyway.

As for pre blend having its pros, on a small job yes granted. Have you done much rendering yourself with Sand and Cement? Because I can tell you when you start using a pre blend sand and cement over site mix your looking at another 100% in material cost!! Which can be upto another £100 per day! It would make more sense to have a extra set of hands for that money, who is then productive throughout the whole day rather than the convenience of blended for the short time your spraying.

Not having a go just saying like.

Wezly,

Get what you saying mate and know your not having a go. I know Ian wasn't trying to flog the Ritmo to him, I know Rob already has one. I wasn't tying to flog a diesel either. Saying that, I have told him they are available to Hire.

He has 1000's of meters to do as well. Therefore his materials costs are going to be pretty decent with pre bagged. I think he is looking at 10 pallets so we can offer an awesome rate for that.

With regards to the Ritmo being able to do it, lots of machine can do different things. Whether they are suitable for the Job and will perform properly is a different thing altogether.

With regards to efficiency and labour: Using site mix with a Ritmo... You have to put everything into a mixer, then pour into a wheel barrow and then put into the Machine. Unless you have a very tall mixer.... Then its harder to put the material into the mixer. Using a machine is meant to be easier as well remember. What if the guy can't keep up doing that?

I have read through this thread and I don't want this kind of bickering on TPF... name call and accusations is not good for the forum....

I don't think at any point was it mentioned that it couldn't be done but more to the point that its not an ideal machine for the job... From what I have read the diesel machine is the machine for the job but seeing as bobby already has a ritmo he wanted to try this first... it worked....

Please don't do your dirty laundry out here... its a headache for us mods
