just had first day on the new ritmo, has anyone sprayed hpx base coat before and if so what speed and water setting did you use, first attempt ended with dry powder clogging the whisk, cleaned all out, start again ! after a few calls to ian (first day mistakes a plenty) thought we had it sussed but then the hose clogged so had to send purger down etc. by this time its 3.30 so too late for anything but a clean up. tomorrows a new day so I think im going to have it a lot wetter and hopefully it will be ok. anyone got any advice, it will be well received :RpS_angry:

how did the hose clog, did you have the gun on or leave water in the pipe or was the gear too stiff.

I do know how you feel mate ,been there ,but with back up you have with Pftwales you will get there in the end :RpS_thumbup:

ye, think it was too stiff ian, just when we thought we cracked it, clogged up before it reached the gun, but we will persevere, first day nerves and all that, wetter tomoz and hopefully all ok

You shouldnt have had the gun on clive, remember the training. Material through the machine, connect pipe ,material through the pipe, connect gun, connect air to machine and gun.turn air off at gun, turn compressor on and fill the pipe, switch drive to on, open air & material through gun into bucket whilst adjusting air nozzle forward and backwards to get correct spray picture. All there in the training manual i made. jump a few stages and its clean up time.

Feet up tonight, have a strongbow. In the morning set the machine up, no pipes, drop of water in the bottom and ring me. we will take it from there and get you up and running.

Its just because a while passed since the training, once you get it going a few times it becomes less of a mystery. Read through your training sheet tonight from start to finish and you will see a few points you went wrong. Never sprayed HPX. Been told HP12 is a right pain but HPX is ok

yep, read thro instructions carefully, looks like I tried to run before I could walk. lesson learnt, SLOW DOWN ! stage by stage, feeling positive for tomoz !!!!:RpS_thumbsup:

Been there myself Clivo. All lot to take in and remember on the training day and you forget. Nerves and all that. But you learn by your mistakes and once you have made all the mistakes it is plain sailing from there (we hope).

I am still learning the Ritmo but it worked today first time. You may be doing what we did at first and making it too stiff. What you make it for the trowel and for the machine is different. The machine mix is wetter. Priming it is a work of art but once you have sussed it you will be ok.

That thick labrador of mine forgot to turn the water on to the barrel again 3rd time running. Remembered this time with half a barrel to spare.

Remember at the end of the spray to clean the air hole on the gun. the water inlet and clean the filters. Drain the machine down. Check the R&S as well rather than wait till the next days spray. A bit of a dog when you want to spray early and then discover your R&S is knackered.

With the g4 ,we put a bit of washing up liquid in the water to prime the rota ,right or wrong i only do what i was told :RpS_blushing:
