Tuesday got all set up and ready to go then realised our old 10m pipe the airline was a Geka not a push fit. so that was a wasted day.

To day got there all excited and set up the Ritmo. Fine so far but we have a bit of a problem with the bags of pral.m.

You see this is a labour only job and the customer got in 28 bags of Bathstone but i measured it up to needing 32. Couldn't get any Bathstone at short notice and the customer was miffed about the delivery charge. So I suggested on one wall of the 4 walls we do the first pass in Cream and mesh then carry on with bathstone. This wall being around a corner as well. So we primed at 300 and sprayed at 250 a bit on the wet side but ok. Anyway the idea was to nearly get empty on the cream and then introduce the Bathstone which we did.

My sprayer then said as the Bathstone was coming out that it was getting wetter? Turned down the water to 200 and still wet so then 150 and it spluttered and struggled then blocked. So sod it we gave up, scratched it and went home pretty well Peed off.

Got in touch with Les and the first thing he said was what make, what colour. Well pral.m but two tone-ish as mentioned above.

The Cream and Bathstone apparently would be 2 different water settings and what with me letting the hopper go nearly empty (but not empty) and interfering with the water I had bridged it.

So theres a lesson learned. No intermixing and once it is running leave well alone.

I have checked the r&s and it is 9 bar.

Will have another go tomorrow if the weather allows. Always the same, just mastered the mono jet and now got to get used to this Ritmo.

Your get there mate ,like you said different machine ,that,s all , i use to hate starting the next day when it all when tits ,in the back of your mind is , could it be something else :RpS_cursing: best of luck tomorrow mate ,and try not to kick **** out of it :RpS_wink:

Chalk seemed to use less water than Ivory so there maybe something in it.

Hoping this s the case though, the intermixing. We had this once on the monojet when we used a d4-2 in a clamp. Gave up on the clamp couldn't' master it. The Ritmo has a clamp.

I don,t use a clamp one , enough to think about with out all that going on , imo ,was it really pissing out wet ?

I have never had a colour change , that has given a massive differance in the gear , don,t get me wrong les is God when it comes to these things ,just think you may have run it to low, imo

John laa this may sound like a daft question but what did you get rid of the monojet for and buy a ritamo

The generator was too heavy to lug around and on some domestics we do it was impossible to get it where we wanted. Needed all of us at the crack of dawn to load it on the truck and off.

The Ritmo I can put on the truck myself. It can even be carried through a house in the 3 bits. Early days yet but I think it is the machine for us.

firy muff

are you doing only domestic now ? sounds like terraced where you need to cart through houses or back alley ways.

What genny were you using ?

one of those PFT Northern supplied. The orange one with a tank on top. 12.5 kva. Getting a used 3 phrase is easy enough but getting a suitable generator is something else.

The job I am now would have meant the generator blocking the alleyway off. Same on the next job.

Next job is 8 m high hope it can pump up that far.

Rigs I did a gable end last year,120m2.the ritmo was on the side of the road.we used all the length of the hose(20m) to reach the top of the apex.pumped no problem.would of needed 2 labourers to carry gear all day without the machine.

Used the Ritmo today again. This time just covered the r&s on priming and primed the gear through. Looked wet enough but ended up being a bit stiff rather than wet but still ruled off nice.

Only 10 bags worth but went ok.

Next job SPS Envirowall C+G base render then Granicem L Mono.

Heading in the right direction mate , as we both know ,they take a bit of getting used to :RpS_cursing:

Get a ritmo deri.i do similar work to you.i have just sprayed 65m2 of sand& cement in a couple of hours internal without breaking into a sweat.one on the machine, one spraying and me following ruling off.

I just done a sample panel in granicem .... Put it on on Friday scraped it sunday lol

Yes it's a slow setter. Did one in May late evening and just right next morning but this is going to be on C+G base so 10mm mono scraped back to 7mm on a solid wall. Hopefully the heat loss will make it go off overnight.

Used the Ritmo for the second time today. First the ten a penny put too much powder in on priming so stop and clean out. Then we got going on this 8m high wall and as we got to the top lift (we started bottom up) the Ritmo conked out. Ran for 2-3 seconds then stopped. Thinking it was struggling to pump up so high and it had been stood for 2-3 minutes it was a blockage but on 15 bar on the hose?

So we take the hose of but same, runs for a few seconds. Rings up Les and after hearing it he diagnosed a blocked airline. So no kinks in the air line we rodded the air hole in the gun and away we went.

But the gun airline was spotless on starting So it.was a build up whilst spraying?

We we live and learn.

The thought of havin one of these machines would be amazing but the problems that come with them, not so good. I'll wait until there more simplified I think.

they are simple, its just getting in a routine and a system with it, and it all falls into place.

Never had a blocked air line on ours. Stick with it once you master it is a excellent little pump

I thought it might be an airline problem but I was busy ruling and spatting to have a look. My other spread looks after the machine. I had this on the Monojet but that was down to us not cleaning the air hole on the gun. This gun was spotless so was surprised to be able to block an clean air hole up whilst running.

All a learning curve.

You got it set up right?

Yes, I thought it was set up wrong so went out to see Les but it is set right. Doesn,t seem as much air coming out as the 3 phrase but still works ok, maybe just one of those things. Surprised it pumped up 8m ok.

Nice convenient machine. Light and easy to move around and store. No noisy v2 generator in the background.

So my third day with the Ritmo and disappointed again. First I checked the r&s to find it was on 2 bar. My last post regarding roughcast pft wales suggested checking it as Granicem was sprayed at 175 water at the 9 bar. 28 bags later 2 bar?

But first reading was 0 bar. So tighten up and up and up as the needle was either 0 or 2 then after only 1/4 of a turn it was suddenly 15 bar. So bugger it kept it there. Then we set the water but then found the chamber had to much water in it with us faffing about with the r&s so ran the motor to get some water out. Then the motor wouldn't switch on, then it would. Stop to check the water level then it wouldn't again. Frustrating!

Anyway got the water down to just covering the r&s and tried priming it with a handful of powder then sprinkle powder in when the motor is going. Can't see if you are putting too much in or not enough with all the dust. Anyway the labradoodle puts to much in again and bridges it! So clean out and start again. Cleaned out the r&s so set it again. This time again 0, 0, then 10 bar. Primed it but water at 125 and it was on the wet side. So is it me and this clamp? I gave up with the clamp on the mono jet because I could never get that right either.

Run the motor and water is coming out. Slowly turn off the tap and the need goes up to anything between 15 and 20 bar. Turn off the motor and see what the needle settles at? Sometimes 0 sometimes 9-10 bar.

Next job is going to be Rend-aod and Webers ocr. So any advice on settings for rend-aid? nozzle size, speed etc? Will be using this r&s but going to fit a new one for the ocr. I don't know how old this r&s is. It has done 56 bags since a service.
