Don't know if this is in the right part but I'm lookin for a cheapish towable machine something like a sp11 or V2, I'm only a small firm (me an two lads) so don't want to be paying more than 6k really, am I dreamin for that price or is there anything out there? I've tried looking bout nowt much on ebay or trader

K rend pal, don't fancy the smaller machines seen them used an think I can use my trowel faster than they can pump haha
Well i have a g4 mate ,which is more your price range ,as for you being faster then a machine thats great , but i,m not ****** at the end of the day :RpS_thumbup:

What are they like for maintenance pal? Are the reliable? What kind of breakdowns have you had? I'm really thinkin of the v2 as I used one for 2 years while working for someone else and the only problem was really stator wear but that's to be expected, have you used a v2?

No mate just my g4 for 6/7 years , no problems with it , that a phone call to pft did not sort out . With a smaller machine least you can keep it in the van , as you said you are only doing smaller jobs , where you based ?

I'm near Blackburn, if you was doing a 50 krend gable no obstacles, say you got there at 8 what time do ya reckon you would have it all sprayed? With one running machine and two spraying and laying? I just want to get it right ya see if I'm going to be spending that amount on something don't want to end up with the wrong machine

G4 is a good solid machine pal filters and r&s n that's ur maintenance sorted and up to 60lm and pumping 50 m I think is plenty umf IMO

With mesh ,i would say 2 hours tops mate , i work as a 2 man these days which does take longer ,but it suits us more when we do inside work , Pft guys or Ryan will tell you more for your set up ,hang around for a bit ,they are probably still counting their money from the week before :RpS_wink:

Rite thanks for ya input guys I've tried to see what sort of cost it would be but seems like its a big secret, you guys give me a rough guide? I'd like to hear from someone who's used both a diesel machine and the g4 and see what they think on comparison, would you get the g4 in the back of a swb transit?

Just watched the video on youtube and does look to be spraying at a similar rate to the v2 I've used, must have just been some bumpy ya using it when I saw them because they were really slow, going to have a look around an see what prices I can find one At

There is a guy on here that went from a diesel to a g4 ,and he does big sites , last i heard he was happy with it , stick around ,think pft sell them second hand sometimes

Yeah pal I've seen the lads rock up in a merc Vito with a g5 and genny and that's got a separate caddy which takes up extra room

Sounds good, would be easier for storage and everything rather than a diesel I just want to make sure there's no real drop in performance, it's hard work trying to look on net an work out prices will have to make a few phone calls tommorrow,

Hi Christian.
I have used both electric and diesel machines and will recommend an electric every time. Of course this is not everyones opinion but this is what i found based on say a G5 with generator and a V2. this applies to any 3 phase machine but i use a g5 as an example

1 The electric equipment fit in the van which meant i could go straight home. The diesel had to be taken somewhere and usually had to take someone with me to unload. Usually had to pay some way or other for that storage
2, The diesel was a pain to use when it was just 2 of us.
3, The diesel had to be put in one place and all pumping done from there. I hated using more and more pipe and the job sites were getting increasingly tighter.
4, The g5 would give me just what material i needed compared to the diesel which didnt like mixing small amounts.
5, Cannot use the diesel for indoor work
6, sometimes you go to a job and there is 3 phase power available.
7 Cleaning a diesel makes more mess which was a pain for us on some private jobs like extensions etc.

You may have seen a ritmo pumping which is slower than a diesel or g5. But i can tell you that the v2 may say it will pump over 70 lts but you will never need more than half that. The Diesel uses 1 rotor and stator and you just alter the speed. The G5 you have a d6-3 rotor and stator as standard that pumps about 20 lts and is quick enough for any rendering application but you can change this rotor and stator to alter your output there are loads of different versions for you to alter the output from 5 ltrs to 85.

PS i got a used g5 set up for sale so i am biased

Do u sell diesel machines

There all really valid points, see I don't work on sites as there's always someone trying to make money off you so I just do private house 90% of the time, so space is at a premium a lot of the time, could you send me some details of the setup and costs, I basically want to be able to plug it in and go, so can you include everything in the setup costs thanks

Also because I live in a relativly primitive area the only OCR stocked is k rend hand applied gear would the g4 pump this or does it need to be the machine applied stuff

The weber isn't available to easily near me, just krend an they only started stocking that two years ago because I was gettin quite abit
