does anyone know how much the replacement blades will be for the blue s*p*r*lex spat and if there available now

hello spunky,

spoken to Peter today and coincidentally he had just got off the phone to our supplier about this.

Hopefully we will be receiving the replacement blades next month so you can start swapping them over yourself and save a bit of cash.

Harry

This will be good as when i rang up for a replacement we were told they were not doing them yet, which seemed to make buy the new blue ones a bit pointless

Not really you'd probably be more pissed off if they brought out the replacement blades after you bought the red one

We are not too sure yet as to the price of the new blade as our supplier hasn't given us the prices yet. I will let you know as soon as possible.

With regards to swapping them over yourself, i have now been informed that this will not be a job you can do yourselves as it requires a bit of fiddling, therefore, any replacements will have to be done here and then sent back out to you.

Well with your postage charges being the biggest gripe for those dealing with you I can't see that taking off.

so a tool has been made with replaceable blades i.e an improvement of the old ones that if the blades went wrong send them to you and you would sort it, you now bring out these new ones then it turns out that they have to be sent back to be replaced aswell???? and as andy pointed out the ridiculous postage prices on top

I did start typing the exact thing Andy and jase Have said but I deleted it as refina never seem to listen to any feedback or opinions.

ive lost count of the amount of times ive gone to order something off of refina then had to slap my self to realise itll cost me the earth for even something small plus ive herd so dnt quote me on this that if they dnt have something you just have to wait till they get it and you could be waiting a very long time.
ill always look else where or ask steve where to get something from he usually knows the crack when it comes to getting the stuff refina sell without paying thier prices, i might not have refinas stuff on it but its exactly the same

Speaking of which I actually found the manufacturers of the s*p*r*lex spat recently but they never had a price list on the website and I couldn't be arsed to phone them.

off topic sorry, but what is the cost of megamixer servicing :RpS_blushing:

the service would cost around £40.80 inc VAT for the machine to be collected, serviced (1 hours labour) and then returned to you.

this can be arranged by calling one of the girls in the office on 01202 632270

The s*p*r*lex skimming spatulas were not originally designed to take a replacement blade. The majority of the cost of the tool is in the special, very thin stainless steel blade. We have asked the manufacturer to supply us with spare blades, but they have been unwilling to do this.

Unfortunately, the blades are not easy to fit, and the plastic end caps are welded in place. As soon as we get the replacement blades in, we will advise all the forum members and we will then know what the cost will be.

The advantage of the s*p*r*lex is the ultra flexible finishing blade, the downside is that its prone to damage if dropped.

We can assure you we are listening to your feedback, but with the postage it costs us £10 to send the parcel next day to ensure you get the goods. We don't have a minimal order charge, but its something we are looking at. Unfortunately, if we want to deliver a next day service, it costs us the same whether it be a small trowel or a £500 order.

There is also a 2-3 day delivery service that costs £6.95 if you want a cheaper service and to wait a little longer.

What does the service consist of?

This is what I dont understand. It's 9.95 delivery regardless of how much you spend but if Im spending a few hundred quid I'd like to think the company would offer free delivery or a bit of discount or anything as a little thank you. I've just bought 100 beads online for the same price I get from the merchants but I also got for free 10 tubs of pva a large dust sheet and a new pad saw all with free delivery.

Where did you get all that from beddymarra.............:RpS_thumbup:

The service consists of :

stripping of the handle, motor and gearbox.
cleaning the airways.
check operation of all components (switch, gearchange knob, cable, plug bearings, brushes etc.)
general lubrication and cleaning on the inside.
replacement of any broken/worn parts after a quote is accepted.

Unfortunately we cannot clean the outside of each machine. However, i'm sure you all keep your machines in top nick

Sorry beddy, i was under the impression you were annoyed that it cost 9.95 for a small order. With regards to large orders, I can speak to the boss to see if we could maybe organise some sort of forum free tool or something along those lines for orders over a certain amount. We do try our best to keep all you guys happy!!

I didn't want to pick up on too many things at once lol. I just can't help think that a company as large as yourselves could be a bit more competitive at times. As I've said in the past I buy your tools off a company who just rings you up and gives you my details. He is cheaper and free delivery. I understand if they buy a lot then they get discounts but there's no insentive for us to come direct to you.

I got a price off this company for 2 hop ups. The were considerably cheaper with free delivery. Phoned refina and told the girl on the phone and her reply was 'that's fine because we still get the sale so it doesn't matter to us' so I did.

I told Leon about this and he said she was wrong to say that and that it needs looking into

Phoned refina again a couple of months back regarding a s*p*r*lex trowel. Again told them I've had a cheaper offer and was basically told that's the final price. Like I said there's no insentive to come direct to you

i always go to other people for refinas gear i know as steve said you still get the sale but thier offering better deals, i dnt understand how refina themselvs cnt drop thier prices when the dealers who buy off of them can and can still make a profit selling to us cheaper
