Went to GP and he dug his thumb into a tendon around the forearm/elbow and i nearly jumped off the chair :RpS_crying:

Diagnosed tennis elbow and told me its most common with people who sit on their arse for a living but who do a lot of diy rather than do loads of daily manual work.

Sorts of describes me as i only plaster 2/3 times a month.

Gave me some dclanfenic tabs which i believe are quite strong and nobbed me out the door. No physio or hope of recovery. Gutted.

You have my sympathies Windy. Bodies are great things until they go wrong and then the implications really hit home, i know, i've been there recently. A mate of mine has tennis elbow and he's having acupuncture and says it's really helping. Worth a try????

why the f'ck do they call it tennis elbow? has a tennis player ever suffered from it?

strange name aint it tennis elbow,
my old man got house maids knee a few years ago something to do wth fliuid building up on your knee, i stil take the piss now.

do them copper bracelets work danny?

i reckon the medical profession should bring itself up to date, bit like the oxford english dictionary..

they could call 'piles' - 'ravers arsehole'.....

i reckon theres got to be a good few more... :RpS_sleep:

i remember getting raver's nipple years ago - stuck some masking tape on them, soon sorted that out.

Don't remember raver's arsehole though

Atheletes foots another one.

Only thing i have ever suffered with is Pornstar Nob :rolleyes)

Had the tennis a few times, like a toothache in the elbow/forearm. usually started when I was doing 4 sets a day. It used to wake me up at around 4am regular and it was agony! Pain also went down forearm and into the thumb and between the knuckles. Then theres the backpain, knees that seize up etc.all good reasons to be getting better m2 prices me thinks!

you can also take paracetamol with declofenic woks well but no fix...

declophenic makes your pooo rock hard... not good for me :-(

Try a copper band.... seriously people have been using them for years to help sort arthritis out :)

Copper band works, mines got magnets in also:RpS_thumbup:
Mind you it plays havoc with me laptops' wireless signal:-0

Only joking:rolleyes)

Bricklayers suffer with tennis elbow more than spreads there is also a syndrome called golfers elbow which effects another part of the arm i had an op on mine about thirty years ago been fine since diclofenic and quartazone both work but you have to rest the arm while using these or you will just make it worse.

hi windy,
i went to doc's in october, couldn't move my arm at all, he gave me pain killers and told me to rest it for a week, that was on the thurs
went for accupuncture fri & sat was back at work on monday, had 2 more sessions that week, not had any more pain since.
can definitely recommend it. only cost £25 a session.

serious question windybut did you when plastering use a spot board and stand or use a bucket trowel to scoop your mud onto your handboard.of its mainly the latter theres your answer its not good for your elbow area mate puts a lot of strain in the wrong areas

im really an old dog when it comes to a board and stand .if you have room for one ALWAYS use one .it truly is less stress full on your body a bucket trowel all day is bad especially every day it will bite you big time.not only that bit your b&s is base where you can put other trowels ,corner tools without them being trod on hang a small towel to keep hands dry and a place for your splash bucket to go without some dozy tw at knocking it over.its probably bin used for centuries and theres a reason

ebay is the place to go for one windy or lloyds pharmacy :)

bucket and bucket trowel is hard work... board and stand as often as I can makes a hard job a little easier :)
