Is there any brand that doesn't fray FFS? I remember using the original FIBATAPE and don't recall it fraying. It was also very sticky, you had to peel it of the roll!!! I'm sick of the tape thats sold nowadays. Some of it is so bad the frayed edges show through the plaster!!!

Thistle protape is the best i've ever used sticky as fcuk & doesn't fray!
Well maybe a tiny bit but not as bad as the cheap shite!

there is something in the tips section to sort it i think you run your stanley across it a few times whilste its lay down on its side.

Good shout Nisus. I'm gonna try that thistle pro tape. And if it frays.....i'm holding you personally responsible. :glare:

a.d Of course i'm tight. Tighter than a photo finish!!!

Tape? So much for quality fcuking control. The tape's out of control as soon as you peel it of the roll!

i have noticed that over the last year or so:RpS_cursing:

also the make fibre tape is the least sticky, some of the rolls won't stick at all:mad:

it has to be said fibre tape is one of the best inventions we have had in the plastering game...some of the older spreads on here will remember the change over from cotten scrim to fibre tape.It was like having all your birthdays at once

I think the fiba tape copies are absolutly shite too thin in my opinion and has a tendancy to crack on the joints. When it first came out it seemed a lot thicker,so i tend to use the silver scrim seems to hold and stick a lot better.

I think its an everbuild product, havn t seen it anywhere where i use i picked it up off a job where the customer supplied the materials and it found its way into the back of my van,

I hear what you're saying. I have noticed that a few walls & ceilings I,ve done recently have cracked & often thought it was the scrim! I now use the blue knauf scrim & the silver stuff when I can get it & it seems ok so far??
