Would like to thank Ryan on his quick service and turn around , my 16 inch nela had started splitting were the metals are glued, i only phoned him yesterday and the old ones gone new one delivered , 10/10 for service top job Ryan take a bow:RpS_thumbsup:

Once again mate, sorry about the issue. The new NELA's have been improved and this wont happen again - Thanks for posting the above :RpS_thumbup:

it might be with others ,but mine was like new other than coming apart , it started bending wrong way with build up of fat underneath middle bit of metal , ended up unusable
Oh I believe you,but I know a guy who would pull a snow plough apart, picking stuff up with the toe of the trowel against the rivets, I see lots of "spreads" doing this and I'm always glad it's not my trowel..

I have seen this myself before ,but in my mind if you look after your tools they will look after you, I still have my first ever Marshalltown extralite 25+years and still usable, tyzack before that but snapped tang on it and it became a floor scraper lol

Is any of it due to rough usage?

no. just came apart. only slightly on the sides but i see what you mean why only the toe. no idea. dont use it as a scoop though. just final trowel.

thanks @Plasterers1StopShop :RpS_thumbup: do you want to pick the old one up? the courier, i mean , not you personally. i'll have a look at the new site before i phone you cos i want a midget flexi anyway and see what else there is.

I couldnt agree more I received equally good service, will deffo use again:RpS_thumbsup:

could just be poorly made
apparently they have had a bad batch (using a glue that wasn't upto scratch) nearly all of them 16 inch trowels ,it starts like you have popped a rivet but grows because of fat, plaster and grime that gets underneath, in turn this forces trowel to turn wrong way, I can understand why there not riveted (would bend at every rivet). Nice trowels to work with to be honest but not been funny or big headed but after years of plastering I could use just about anything and get a decent finish or at least passable after some of the standards I've seen in last couple of months on sites

Yes Mate we have everything in stock now, website should be going up very soon as well.

If you give me a call on 01242 236699 I can let you know prices and del costs etc

Few quick prices:

Catnic Scrim: £2.20 + VAT

If they were poorly made, as a company we wouldn't have them in our range and have our name on it.
well, from the posting previous to yours Casplas's saying "had a bad batch (using a glue that wasn't upto scratch) nearly all of them 16 inch trowel" , I rest my case

It wasn't the glue I believe, it was the process of cleaning/degreasing the metal before the glue was applied - the bloke who was doing it wasn't doing his job right (everything that wasn't right got traced back to him) got sacked and the process is done by a machine now afaik.

I still use the prototype Nela that I trialled for 1stop when they first came out, done a lot of metres with it and it seems as good as ever...and I'm very heavy handed , I've got the touch of an angry rhino

We've had a couple de-laminate as well but were replaced straight away direct to where we were working. :RpS_thumbup:

you should be given the trowels for free until they can get them made properly IMO even if that means one trowel every week

Kev, I'm unsure what your gripe or problem is with us but you seem to target NELA even on Facebook. Those who have had problems have had their products replaced FOC. We have been honest the whole time about the issues and told everyone exactly what is happening. All replacements or new trowels from last week are a completely new batch.

The Trowles have not been poorly made at all, it was simple teething errors which has not cost anyone any money at all!
The issue is with someone who lost his job - Resolved! A new glue has now been used which will eliminate even that problem!

Im sure in the past you have had a job fail or go wrong, that wouldn't mean your work is poor. Sometimes things happen.

As a company we pride ourselves on quality and customer service. We will continue to do so, if there are problems we will not deny it or hide away. We will deal with it.

I'm sure the issue is or will be corrected but my opinion stays the same, just as everyone complained about uni-finish not working and wanted compensation, it can't be one rule for one company and one for another you should be able to take the compliments as well as the criticism and not take it to heart as a direct attack on you personaly

Slightly different to be fair mate.

Uni didn't work at all. The NELA does and is very popular. It is only a small batch that had issues. Over 4000 sold less than 30 returns....

so what you are saying is, no one is allowed in your opinion to have an opinion and voice it ? even though a percentage of the items in question actually failed ? I'm sure i must have missed that part of the forum rules of conduct when i read them

Ryan @Plasterers1StopShop My comments in now way were aimed at you personally or your company I do hope this clears that issue up
