Called in my local Buildbase this morning to pick up some materials for the job I'm on at the minute and the guy there pointed over to a pallet of Unifinish and said help yourself to that, BG have sent us that as a promotion. So I now have some bags sat in my van and got to say slightly worried about using it lol

Haha, I'm literally stood under a painted ceiling now I've got to re skim, and I can't bring myself to use it, just have visions of it shelling off when the new kitchens fitted! Or should I just man up lol

I have e used 28 bags (a pallet) on various jobs in the last month on various backgrounds and will do a review in a few weeks. Hoddo mix it a little thicker than multi and then keep mixing it a little longer, it trowels on lovely.

Well I did the ceiling, it was painted, and there was about an 8x4 size of plasterboard I'd had to patch in the middle. The ceiling took about a bag and a half to get on and lay in. I mixed it pretty much as I would do multi, it seemed to take a bit longer to mix up but was nice. Got the ceiling on, it went on ok, laid it in and could feel it starting to go 'tacky' but once it was on it seemed to hang wettish and was Easy to trowel. Once it was on I went over it twice with my MT Gold then it finished off with the Nela s*p*r*lex, had the throw a bit more water on it than I would usually use with the s*p*r*lex on multi or board finish but all in all it troweled up nice and was easy to control. So that was that, left the job tonight and didn't slam the door to hard! No it's just a case of will it still be on in the morning lol

I used it the other day :) It stays on ok :)

To be honest its great on low suction backgrounds... high suction and you will get a sweat on :)

Where re you buying it from mucker??

what is the price of this uni finish is it on the market yet or are they just trialling it

Been using Unifinish now for over a week and got to say I'm getting on with it fine! After getting over the initial worry lol

Out of interest. Has anyone just tried to chuck some multi over a low suction surface. And was it any different. I bet it's no different

Are you happy with the finish? I like the way it goes on and reminds me a little bit of carlite finish especially how it needs a little extra mixing. I tend to second coat with multi and prefer the finish and timings to two coats of uni although i think people who like to second coat from one mix would like uni.

Yeah the finish has been coming up great, two coats and finish it with my nela s*p*r*lex , I just find I don't need to get on it as early with the s*p*r*lex but that's only on low suction backgrounds, used it on old plaster the other day and it sucked in like hell lol but was controllable in the end
