How many bags of plaster do you lay on in one session or hit or a whole day? I have just started and usually put one bag on in the morning and then another in the afternoon. I know this is slow after reading though some threads on this but already I think I'm getting faster and will have the confidence to do more. How long does it take before you can mix two or three bags in a big bin and get it layed on without drying to soon. Thanks

Don,t worry what the rest of us do ,just make a good job ,the speed will come with time
 
Just push yourself, if you can do a bag comfortably and finish it to a good standard then try a bag and a half or two
 
Thanks. I do make sure its bang on neat so maybe I am being a bit fussy. I have put a whole bag on in no time at all like you say on big panels and such ans then stood there and though I could easy put another one on but haven't because I just want to make certain. I will put another half bag on next time Mixy. I read some of the threads on here and realize how far to go I have left. I have got so much to learn
 
Twelve bags. Beast. Was that a big rolling hit between you? How did you get that much on without it going off on you?
 
Just do what your capable of at the min, the more you do that the more comfortable you manage it then increase it slowly each time. We've all been there mate it just takes practice.
 
Thanks mate. Youre right it's like I am trying to run before I can walk but it is Catch 22 because I can't get more practice unless I can get the work and I think I am saying it will take to long for each job because I am slow. I don't really mean practice on peoplesh homes as I do a good job but slow and I only take on what I can do not what I can't
 
Just curious mate and certainly not trying to take the p1ss, but how would you go about skimming say a 20 or 30m2 ceiling? .

Yes,rolling hit, used marshalltown trowels,before s*p*r*lex and spats etc, two putting on ,one falling back flattening .on and on, it wasn't the intention to do itin one butendedup that way
 
You get 9 square metres from a bag Scot. If I was doing a 20 square meter ceiling I would just do like a small rolling hit with a second bag. I would be able to control that because it is just a panel moreorless. I am just beginning.

At the end of the day Brandon once the lads know you are genuine (a lot of false piisss takers on lately) you will find we are more than happy to help :RpS_thumbup: regarding the spats?? Thanks Marshy for that. I like the look of them but I need to get a van and other things first but hopefully in the next few months plus I want to get more on with just my trowel for now to get better at that.
