Don't know if this guy uses the forum but his work is mega.

I haven't got a clue about fibrous or running molds etc but could quite happily get into this.

Yes it is I did some in the Nineties and Limework before. A lot is now cast in Fibrocem and GRP. There are a few jobs mainly listed work now.
The guys that learnt this are nearly all dead now.

Ryan . Although i had it altered you now have to finish off the flutes top and bottom. all I have done is take away a running mould that most fibrous plasterers have done once in a lifetime and replaced it with something they do all the time

I don't want to blow my own trumpet but I've done quite a few insitu run cornices and also architraves around windows and string moulds:RpS_blushing:

me too !!!done alot of instu work both external and internal , i am on one at the moment grade 2 * memorial hall in newbridge all dado and skirtings also run insitu i have seen simons work before awesome stuff, we are thin on the ground but still alive i have my son with me and showing him the ropes to keep OUR SKILLS ALIVE!! regards stuy

I use running insitu as project work for my students that show an interest and who want to learn more, they run plain cornice with an enrichment bed- then plant and stop up the enrichment -

Ryan, I try to sort some photos out of the type of work some of the students have been doing - they might give you a few ideas

hi Ryan sent you some photos-via email (column box reverse and cast) let me know if you've received them

Bloke who taught me the trade(cheers to Pat Leonard) used to run cornices but sadly died before he could teach me the last few bits.he used to call the mould a donkey...was it just him or have you boys heard that before?!

Haha maybe!but he was a true legend and his name is well known in this part of the country.i reckon it's more likely down to the fact he was a full time joker/piss head...

Fiborous plastering is where I make a living and I am glad to say am also a champ in my domain
