Hi All

I have a whole house to plaster, and have never plastered before.
I like to always see what is out there, and challange the normal a little. We are making an air tight house.

So, I was looking at plastering spraying (such as Q-P036 Airless Pump Kit - Paint Spray Equipment, Spray Paint Equipment - Paint Spray Tools)
Basically I could have me doing the spraying and a rather talented labourer doing the smoothing off.
This would all be on plasterboard.

How good is plaster spraying. I see that typically you have to use ready mixed stuff (which im struggling to find suppliers of - how much more expensive is this stuff compared to the power mix in both cost and coverage)

Buying (or renting) the machine, and getting the whole house done - quickly and which a good finish would be amazing. I can hopefully save a few bob and be left with an asset at the end of it.

What are peoples thoughts and experiences?]

Thanks so much!

Get some of that aerosol spray plaster that they sell in Wickes. It will save on machine purchase or rental. Make sure you shake the can really well, one handed, at waist height to ensure proper activation of the setting agents.

Dont get that machine its ****

Dont do it ur self it will look ****

Spray plastering is awsome it quicker and offers a higher quality finish however you do need to know what your doing.

If you want a quote or anymore info pm me

How does spraying something make it a better finish?

Its a totally different material. I agree if he was talking about mp finish or thistle spray finish then the quality would be the same but hes taking about acrylic resins

I done a couple of jobs with StoLevell In XL about 7 or 8 yrs ago. Biggest pile of cack going. Sto reckoned they was gonna take over the world with it. Haven't seen it since. Not surprised.

I remember the Sto rep telling us how thick you could put it on in one coat for going over block work etc... But it would stay soft for days. And going over board work if the joints were tapered you would have to pre fill them. Same with beads. It would always need a bit of sanding here and there as well. By the time it had all been pre-filled you might as well of just whipped around with jointing machines and be done a hell of a lot quicker. As it was a lot more expensive material wise they sold it as needing one less coat of paint as you could get it coloured but the painters still needed to give it a mist and two coats. And the machines were forever playing up. Couldn't handle the muck. Cant remember the exact machine. It was a Graco one.

Its would be a Graco mark V. I must admit that i dont think its a great system on to block work unless the are jointless celcons
